Agreed. All it does is offer part of the power the engine is already easily capable of. Plus a few additional cosmetic options. And it force feeds you a bunch of expensive "options". The bundled discount on the options is peanuts, even if you actually want most / all of them.I do like the black brushed aluminium interior trim available (same as on the 991 50th anniversary), but heck... even that is c. GBP800 to change on standard trim.

I could have waited but decided to take a stock S from OPC Solihull. Got a decent discount and the car months earlier than a GTS. The only thing I think it would have over mine apart from the additional power is cosmetic.
I've noticed some new options for example gloss window frames, high beam assist for headlights and a reversing camera though.

Smart move. I ordered my CS from Solihull and chose to wait four months for a 14 reg.... Wait was too long and dealer knew I was too keen so discount was abysmal! Should be possible as an Exclusive job from the Special Wish department at Werk 1. You would probably need a lot of imagination to comprehend the kind of price that they would doubtless charge for it though...Sold my C4S to the first person who came to look at it, a nice family who has bought a really nice car.

Looks a nice spec, but I'd still go for the GTS alcantara interior.
Also, perhaps front parking sensors and rear camera aren't necessary ?
2 zone a/c - have it in the Alpina and not sure it's really worth extra.
Certainly save you a few quid, but if that's what you want then go for it.

I'd still delete the badging (side and rear) and add the bluetooth phone prep compadre, and I still reckon that you should go with paint, leather or carbon for the interior trim strips... It does look rather nice though I have to say I've had another go at sorting a spec for the new Cayman - thoughts....

I've been playing with the configurator. I quite like the spec I have come up with but of course welcome thoughts from more experienced Porsche people with regard to what is and isn't considered a must have or preferred option, for whatever reasons. Of course, one must buy what one wants, but no harm in seeking information.

top speed 178 vs the cayman 175
0-100 mph 9.7 vs the Cayman 10.6 est as no gts figure but the S is 10.7)
SO the basic 911 is faster in every way, and in gear times.

No arguments about the GT3, but I really don't like that great big boot spoiler - I prefer to be more subtle Better car, much less depreciation and faster.
I am looking for a car that my wife is comfortable driving as well as providing me with some fun. She is a more sedate driver than me and prefers an automatic. I prefer manual, but having driven a PDK Cayman S I am happy with it, and so was she. So this will be a car we can both drive, rather than the current one that she really doesn't like driving at all.
