Had a set of grills fitted at Zunsport today, very pleased with the result.

Another CGTS guy was there (from North Yorkshire) having suffered a rad failure due to a large stone.

Don't ask me how but he told me Porsche were paying for the damage under warranty after several conversations with his OPC and Stutgart!!

A very lucky guy IMO.

Here's a couple of iPhone pics.

Had the side sorted at the same time. Rubbish pictures but you get the idea.

Budweiser, did you manage to get any photos/video of the fitment or any tips/suggestions?

Yes Guards Red, looked at Carmine Red, which is stunning, but I wasn't prepared to pay the extra cost...

Yes, the Carmine is a complete rip off as it's not metallic. I also went for the Guards Red and now I'm pleased I did as it's a classic Porsche colour and looks stunning.

I wanted carmine but couldn't justify the cost, as when you go to sell it, it will be just a red car not worth a premium. Still a nice colour though.

Last I heard mine was meant to come out of production this week, but I can't get confirmation of that at the moment.

So gents what's the consensus on the fitting, looks and long term for the Zunsport grills? I like the look of them but have heard a few conflicting comments so far.

I'm in two minds tbh, the GTS air intakes are so large it's a lot of mesh to have on display, and I would rather the look of the front as the designers left it - has a kind of 'menacing' look. Stones are the issue as they could do damage to the rads, otherwise anything getting in there is no problem as it's so easy to clean it out. One of my (slight) concerns with the grills is are they easily taken on and off so once in a while clean can be done to clear out the build up of small particles and dust which would rot the rads if left long term? Also, only a few Boxster/Cayman GTS owners (compared to the total number) will read these forums and know about Zunsport so the grills will be fitted to a very small proportion of cars, and the others will do without. The worst that can happen is a new radiator needed which isn't the end of the world in relation to other running costs so I'm inclined to come down on the side of leave well alone and get on with enjoying the car.

As posted earlier I think they are as good as you could hope to make a steel grill fit into a plastic slightly flexible aperture. Once fitted they look 'factory fit' almost. The finish is superb and after changing the method for fitting the lower outer grill you can pop them on in about 5 minutes. They have stayed in place for about 2k miles now, mainly on very bumpy roads and survived a track day with all sorts of debris flying at them.

Some think they are expensive but from working in this kind of engineering they certainly don't look to be loaded with profit.

Does anybody know how much a radiator replacement would cost (parts and labour)?

Metallic is a rip-off as well, just not as big a one as making a solid colour one of Porsche's 'special' colours.

The paint costs obviously vary from pigment to pigment, but metallic is just base colour with aluminium flakes in it and is not a huge amount more expensive.

The time to apply the paint is also a cost, but there is not a great deal of difference between applying solid and metallic.

They charge us because we'll pay.

I have had the Zunsport grills on for over a year, no problem just point the hose at the grills and it blows out any rubbish.

As said I think it protects the oil coolers and the GT4 comes as standard with grills.

Someone now offers the GT4 front bumper to the GTS.

Not sure why you'd want to mind..
