I'll be keeping hold of mine as long as I can, and will throw everything at it to keep it in A1 condition. We won't see cars like these again, they're the last of the line.

Just fitted two sets of Zunsport Grills today to my BGTS and my friends they look awesome and will hopefully protect the rads which were already getting shot up at 1000 miles

I am about to order a set of zunsport grills after a couple of people on here have taken the plunge and are generally happy. For those who have installed them, has anyone tied removing them? And was there any damage on removal?

Removing them would be tricky. The clips used to hold grilles "bite" into the black plastic parts of the bumper openings in front of the rads. When I installed mine I scuffed these parts very slightly, but they're right on the inside of the bumper in the corner and cannot be seen without hunting for them with a torch.

Removing the grilles would leave more of these bite marks, and for a couple of the fittings I'm not sure you could remove them (and therefore the grilles) without taking the bumper off. Maybe you could, but it would be tricky to prise the clips off from the outside.

Ok, thanks for the reply! I suppose one would ask me why would I remove the grills in the first place? I shall get some on order then!

Yep, assume they're on for the life of the car like GT4s and GT3s which have factory fitted mesh grilles.

I fitted these to my 981 Cayman S and had to remove them occasionally to clear out bits of leaves and gunk that collected at the bottom of the rads.

The fitting on an S is not brilliant and I found it far too fiddly so binned them.

That would be a worry - you need to clear leaves and stuff from the radiators on a regular basis. While the grills will stop some of the crud getting in, it can't stop it all and getting it out becomes nigh on impossible.

They'll stop the big stuff. I think the risk of stone damage to a rad is more of a problem than long term rust/rot from stuff getting trapped.

I am planning on doing this instead of the Zunsport. I agree after looking at the links posted that it should work. I also think the mesh on the GT4 looks a lot better than the installation of the Zunsport.

If I may ask, how much did you pay for the mesh and what were the part numbers if you have easy access to them.

I am also expecting my car at the end of May so we may be trying to fit it around the same time.

Thanks,

JT
Have you tried fitting your GT4 mesh yet Squeaks? I am still about 4 weeks away from doing so.

That's quite impressive when you think about a GT3 RS does the lap in 2:40.2, using sticky tyres. I do wonder about how much of a improvement better rubber would make on the GTS. However, what a glorious sound that car makes!

On a side note i'm replacing the P-Zero's with MPSS within the next month or so.

I've got some MPSS on mine at the moment along with the most aggressive geometry I can have on stock suspension components.. Over the Goodyear eagle F1s they are night and day. I've been pulling >1.5g lateral on track. You'll love it.

I'll be putting a set of 18" Trufeo R slicks on soon to see what happens when you really let rip with sticky rubber. Have to figure out a solution for the oil starvation issue first though!

I didn't think that oil starvation was that much of an issues on the dfi engine compaired with the m96/97.

I sold out and just got the Zunsports . . . . for $250 US I figured I would start with them and if I hate them I would spend the big money on the GT4 stuff. After having them installed for 3 days I think they will be just fine.

Sorry to leave you hangin
