We have a BGTS with PASM and the have no front end scrapes. In fact it grounds much less than our '06 Boxster S running on 19" wheels and PASM did. The -10mm sport suspension might make it more of a problem though.
I don't know about the '06 Boxster but the GTS bodywork was an option on the S and the Configurator option warned that it significantly reduced ground clearance. While it's clear from other postings that some have no issue with GTS ground clearance - others with GTSs clearly have, with reports of grounding on sleeping policemen and paint being scraped off. All I know is that I wouldn't be happy with any less clearance than I have with my S (whose apron has been scraped and the plastic detatched on one occasion) and I don't have any radical ramps or particularly steep drives to negotiate.

I have quite a steep drive and don't have any issue with the GTS front spoiler. Do agree the Bose is not worth the money. I've never had a car before that I almost never put the music on, the engine/exhaust sounds are fantastic.

Thanks for the comments. Was not so concerned about the differences in speed etc and I appreciate detecting the differences will be marginal, but I do prefer the look of the GTS and the sound, ant they're rarer etc. I know there is not night and difference between an S and have looked at a few S's too, but finding a well specced S with the options I'd like is proving tricky and those that are, are not too far off this GTS in price already. If i can live without Bose, PCM and park assist then might be worth it
Just had a morning browse on the Porsche website - currently only 4 GTS available and all at £60k give or take £10.

These are mainly 2014 cars - 2015 adds another £5k.

2014 CS are available for less than £40k with very low spec and highly specced 2015 and 2016 CS are available for low to mid 50s, so there's a significant price difference.

The grey one is new to the market, the other three have been there a few weeks.

Is the red one an ex-OPC car? The non-alcantara wheel with the GTS interior pack is an odd mix, plus it has PCCBs.

I wouldn't be fussed about the lack of Bose. It's pretty ordinary (I'm being kind - I have it and it's dreadful for the price) and, in any case there is a lot of road roar (easily the loudest noise at a motorway cruise) so I don't think a decent sound system is a good buy unless you spend a lot of time in traffic. Parking sensors are certainly useful. PCM? It's grossly overpriced (new or secondhand) for what it is, a £200 Garmin or TomTom will do the job at least as well - but do look rather tacky in a £50k plus car. Do check for mobile phone preparation, though - unbelievably it's not standard.

I've had my PASM BGTS in both town and countryside and I think I've only scraped the front splitter once. If I think a speed bump is touch and go I'll push the suspension button to stiffen things up. Am convinced if you drive slow enough you can get over and awful lot with no probs smile

Matter of personal taste of course, but yes the leather / alcantara GTS unique trim is a must, whether carbon trim and coloured stitching is that necessary I'm not so sure, I think the carbon makes the cabin coal cellar dark, which is why I chose interior package painted (Carrara white). It doesn't work well with all colours though. I'd never buy one that had just leather trim, GTS character is replaced with just a standard (allbeit full leather) Boxster interior.

with the announcement of the 991.2 GTS, its basically a given that the CGTS and BGTS will be based off the 4 pot engines. Congratulations to all current GTS owners!!!

That was my thought too, and confirms what I think most of us suspected. It may well mean strong residuals for the NA GTS 911s and 981 Caymans...

Not quite the same for me. I love my BGTS, but if a perfect for me spec 997 or 991 GTS came up, I'd chop in the Boxster and pony up for the 911, if only because it would mean we could use it as a family occasionally now that my daughter is almost old enough to go in a forward facing car seat. At the moment it's only ever me in the BGTS now pretty much.

When is the release of the 718 GTS models?

I have put my name down for my dream car, doubt I will get an allocation though, if that fails then Im left with options as i use my car very occasionally.

Keep 981 BGTS
Get 981 CGTS (Dunno why i think this :lolsmile
Get 981 CS lower price range and fettle with it, Power, brakes, lightening etc.
Or Exige S 260.

I dunno hardly use my car so maybe when the weather pics up I might change my mind , winter blues maybe.

Going by the release of the 991.2 GTS models, the 718 GTS should be released before this summer. No longer a run-out special it seems!

That's a really quick turn around! Quicker than I expected.

After the strangest couple of weeks ever, fate has decided to give me a little treat - so in a whirlwind of activity this last few days, I have snagged myself a manual Cayman GTS. Wish me luck.... smile

The grey one from Newcastle? If so, that was a great spec - very similar to mine apart from the colour scheme. Good price too at £58k.

That was either clever observation or light stalking!! Ha ha Yeah, that's me. Was it on the Porsche site this week? I forgot to look.

I have a few pics that the dealer took, but will post something once I actually have the keys in my grubby mits.
