It was on the OPC site this week but has now been removed - it was only there a few days - so it was a simple guess that it was the one you snagged. No stalking required!
Whatever - I see you across there in those bushes...Yep, this is the one: http://www.motors.co.uk/car-44133415/0/srs
The clutch is much heavier than my S3 and the gearing is a little long, so it doesn't feel quite as quick (even tho it is), but they are both minor points that I will never let on to my other half. Missed out on a Rhodium Silver PDK car 3 months ago, so glad I've got this one. Pretty happy - will be happier when I have the keys!
GTS holding value incredibly well. Personally would find it difficult to justify the premium if I was in the 2nd hand market compared with the S. Will be interesting to see how the prices evolve. Both are great cars don't get me wrong, it's just that the gains are marginal. The law of diminishing returns applies!
Sure they are rare (and hugely dersirable). I just can't see a £60k GTS outperforming a £50k S, like-for-like age, mileage and spec (as near as is possible) in say 3 years from now. I predict they will depreciate at the same rate.
A good reason get out there and enjoy your car come rain (sleet!) or shine.

Not sure there are that many S's out there that are close to GTS spec so they may well do OK. There will always be a premium for the GTS though because as you say "they are rare and highly desirable".Obafemi99 said:
Out of interest, does anyone know how many GTS's were sold in the UK then..?
545 - 135 Spanish versions and 410 PDKs - compared to 595 GT4s.PhantomPH said:

Hmmm... looking a nice spec - interior and exterior GTS packs, carbon, Bose, nav, ParkAssist front and rear by the look of it. Sports seats?Yep, this is the one: http://www.motors.co.uk/car-44133415/0/srs

Question (and sorry if it's been covered, but we are on page 251 now and theres only so much back-reading I can do!): I see above a reference to 'Spanish' versions. What does this mean? Is that a reference to something to do with the manual box?

I can see where you're coming from, but the 911 GTSs are outperforming their S counterparts the last time I had a gander at prices. I think that for the 981 GTSs the key thing may be the interior GTS pack. Everything else can pretty much be specced on the S I believe. Notwithstanding that, even the badge matters, rightly or wrongly, so it having GTS on it may even be enough on its own. I think there's always people who are willing to pay for diminishing returns for the extra bit of exclusivity. Nothing wrong with it, I'm one of them. For my Boxster it was GTS or not at all. And when I look at potential 997/991.1 replacements, it's GTS only. Although I could be persuaded into a base 991 at some point if it was manual and had an interesting colour combo. Frankly the S model for me now holds little if any interest.Mario149 said:

This is pretty much my take on things. Plenty of interest in and demand for 997 GTSs and the 991 GTS is getting rather a reputation too. Same is happening to the Cayman GTS. S models don't have the cachet for enthusiasts. A Cayman GTS is hardly an investment but I'd expect it to do better than the rest of the range barring the GT4 in terms of retaining value, especially with the interior and exterior packs. Well that's what I'm telling myself anyway.

While I'm, to a degree, in agreement with Heathrow - I personally wouldn't buy a GTS in preferance to an S - I think we are in a minority and I suspect that GTSs will continue to command a premium over a similarly specced S and depreciate less. nsm3 said:
Both the S and GTS will be in the sub £10k, bargain basement bin at some stage. Can't see the £10-15k premium hanging around that long? The GT4 is a different proposition.
Currently there are precisely zero Caymans of any kind in the "sub-£10k bargain basement bin" in the classifieds...and thats with 12 years in existence. I think you will be waiting a VERY long time if you expect to see a GTS sub £10k.Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
