Sure they are rare (and hugely dersirable). I just can't see a £60k GTS outperforming a £50k S, like-for-like age, mileage and spec (as near as is possible) in say 3 years from now. I predict they will depreciate at the same rate.

Car is cheap (almost as chips) given it has the interior and exterior packs.I can't see any GTS model sliding into the sub-10K bracket if it's well looked after. Unless the world starts to hate fossil fuel-powered vehicles that you have to pilot yourself - which is a distinct possibility...

It doesn't have either. No contrast stitching in grey or red on the interior or carbon, and the exterior plastics just look like they've been polished slightly by a valeter. When painted, as part of the exterior kit, they're high gloss black. It is cheap though. Non-OPC obviously, but highish miles and low spec. No interior upgrades, no PCM, no PTV, no stereo upgrades, no parking sensors etc etc.

Assuming you aren't planning to keep your car forever, where do you go next after a 981 Cayman? 991 would be one option but seems expensive in comparison and doesn't offer the same mid engined experience. Interior is basically the same but you dont get the noise in the cabin in the same way and the car is less agile. Exige is more focused but less polished as an all rounder. Always wonder why more people don't buy Caymans!! I think it may be a car that you miss once it's gone.
Fascinated to see what after market enhancements come to the fore now that cars are starting to come out of warranty. Not that the car wants for anything but know lots of people like to tinker.

It probably only has £1500 of extras on it, I'm not surprised that it's £50K. It was probably only £57K new nearly 3 years ago.
Yep no buckets or X73 so it ain't worth much more than a CS!The market IMHO will follow the same as the 987.2cs/CR in that spec. is key and things like extra carbon or leather etc makes no difference!

Probably true, but I'm inclined to think that it's the lack of PCM and upgraded sound system (grossly overpriced as they were) that is depressing the price. Heathrow said:

I had this problem - went from GTS to a 991 4S; and regretted it. The 911 just never did it for me. Within 6 months I had another CGTS on order. I have now moved on again though - this time to a 981 Boxster Spyder which I absolutely love but I have the same issue - there isn't a car (that isn't crazy money) that appeals more. So, for the time being at least, I'm staying put; and with the next Spyder likely to be F4T (imo) I could be staying put for some time!Fascinated to see what after market enhancements come to the fore now that cars are starting to come out of warranty. Much the same view here; after 2 x 987 Boxster S and a 987/2 Cayman S we went to a 997/2 Carrera S; great car but whilst my wife loved it I just didn't really jell with it; sold it for our current BGTS. Had several drives in 991, again a great car but I thought more GT than sports car in character and would have got bored with one pretty quickly. The only Porsche's that would appeal now would be either a good used 991/1 GTS or the latest 991/2 GTS. But the latter priced up on the configurator came to within a whisker of £110k!!!I came from the opposite direction - 997 C2 to Cayman S. The 991.1 holds some appeal in GTS guise - a useful 100bhp increase. And 4WD option for something different. My experience of the car is that the noise is more muted (comparing PSE equipped cars). I think this is a combination of better NVH suppression and the lack of engine air intakes, which limit the induction noise that for me is a really nice feature of the Cayman.
I keep toying with changing but I know I'll regret it. I feel fortunate to have ticked the 911 box early so I don't feel in any way short changed by the Cayman. In a fantasy world, I would love to seen a genuine Porsche Clubsport effort with lightweight panels, plastic windows, and no aero, engine from he GT4 etc.
