Put's hand up ..........I have that fitted to mine.

83K on a Boxster GTS is impressive, I though mine was excessive at 79k.
Mine has the GTS interior and TV - although having not driven one without the PTV, I have no idea what diff it makes! (plus my only miles so far have been on slippery 'kill yourself if you act like a tit' roads, so we shall see...) smile

PTV seems to kick in at more extreme angles and helps to point the nose in rather than throw the back end out. I've only had it kick in a couple of times but it does a good job on the road.

You'll find you will probably notice it more in tighter turns, as its subtle but noticeable. It was one of the options I was unsure about on mine when ordering the car, so the PEC let me back to back a number of options to see if I can feel a positive difference.

As you have said, I wouldn't recommend trying it out in the current road conditions especially if you are running P-Zero's

Yeah, the P-Zeros have been...erm...interesting so far. Never known a tyre harden so much when cold. I get such block chatter until they have a bit of temp in them it's nuts.

I know you have to go with approved N-rated etc....but when the time comes (and if I keep having to catch the arse end as often as I do, it won't be too long!) I will have to do some investigation into the tyre options I have available - especially given it's daily driver role ATM.

I had Pzero's on my car, but as its a daily, for the winter I always fit the recommended winter tyres, so much more grip and feel in temps below about 7 degrees. Pzeros are horrible when its cold, like you say they go very hard and grip just disappears

On the subject of tyres, i need some new rears, am not a huge fan of the P Zero's, have only had the car a few months so only experienced it in the cold / wet really, so will P Zero's get better as the weather gets better - i know all tyres will, but am I better off looking at alternative options? Am i also right in thinking that for warranty purposes I need to buy N rated?

thanks

Pzero N1 as opposed to N0 tyres are a definitely step forward in terms of cold weather issues. But (N rated) Winter tyres - I have Dunlops - are definitely more forgiving. Porsche are (probably unreasonably) likely to make relevant warranty issues are more difficult on non-N tyres.

I have PTV, but I must be honest I can't feel it working and I do drive it hard on country roads.

I've been waiting on PS4S to be available in the correct size but I know the MPSS is now back in stock at Camskill in the correct sizes. However, both of these are not N rated.

Only use mine in the summer really so the P-Zero's do the job on country blasts. In cold weather it does move about quite abit at the rear.

Hi guys, I am new to this forum and have recently become the owner of a Cayman GTS. It was an impulsive buy just on general reviews, both online and particularly youtube reviewers, and they were spot on, it was all they said and more... I was hoping to only drive it occasionally, but I cant!!! I cant leave it alone. Only thing I dont have satnav or bluetooth... I contacted my local dealer and they quoted £1500 for just bluetooth. Is that an acceptable price? tbh while driving I dont really want to speak to anyone, plus I cant hear them anyway... but ...

I was just thinking the same thing. I don't hang around but the back end has only once stepped out on me in 9 months. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough.

Congrats on your new purchase, they are brilliant cars. Any retrofits at dealers are generally stupid money, although £1500 seems steep. Tequipment list states £1,024 fitted. (http://content3.eu.porsche.com/prod/pag/tequipment/TeqFinder.nsf/TeqFinder?ReadForm&country=gb)

Given the last sentence of your post, I wouldn't say it is worth over a grand!

4 times (at least) in the last 2.5 weeks for me. That's rural Northumberland tho, so the roads are greasy as feck as well as being nipple-hardeningly cold. In fairness, a few of those have been me learning the car a bit and getting my right foot down with too much steering angle on for the road condition. Only once have I had a real butt-clencher and that was being a show off with a passenger and changing from 2nd-3rd at full beans on a slick cold road. I think I caught a camber change just at the same time and the back end really let me know I was being a silly boy.

As for the poster without bluetooth - I have only had a couple of calls whilst in the car an really feel like I am shouting over the engine, so I understand the hesitance. Have you thought about getting a local indy to fit a Parrot system for you that can be removed when you sell the car on?

Depends which Bluetooth module you get. The Telephone Module does RSAP / Separate sim if required so is better in some cases but needs CDR Plus or PCM I think. RSAP means phones like the Samsung Galaxy Series will wirelessly give the sim to the car for better reception. If you are an Apple user though they don't support RSAP so just take the cheaper option.

Cold, and exiting round abouts or mid round about in Sports Plus it likes to swing around in damp, or cold, caught me off guard a few times.
