OPC do offer finance deals but I'm sure there are better options out there...

I was thinking the same thing - bloody parts bin specials and little power upgrades are very destructive to the value of cars that they barely supersede.

Good job I intend to keep mine for so long, it will be virtually worthless anyway.

I guess those wanting a more 'comfort spec' Cayman would still find a Cayman S as the one to pick. Having to pay for a lot of options you don't necessarily want would avoid them choosing the sportier GTS.

Interesting question, something I pondered before buying my S. For me the killer is the rear lights - easily changed I suppose, and I dont prefer the look of the GTS - some elements I like, some I prefer on the standard car. I think if the power difference was bigger it might dent the values of the non S, but as it stands I doubt it.

Anyone still contemplating manual or PDK, please get the manual. I am not getting on with PDK at all. Especially the clunky, noisy down shifts from 3-2-1, which is apparently common. This latest generation of PDK is not a patch on BMW's MDCT or that found in the Nissan GTR.

No problem with mine to date..

Have you been back to the dealer to have it checked out?

Sorry to hear of your problems...

Does yours make any noise coming down from 2nd to 1st? A little transmission rattle, not dissimilar to the noise a car makes before it's about to stall.

Shouldn't do that - in Sport/Sport Plus, the change down from 2nd to 1st can be a little rough, just as you come to a halt, due to it trying to rev match just as the car is stopping.

Nope, not even slightly. Tight as a drum, lightening quick, smooth as a babies bottom. Go back to the dealer, do not pass go, do not collect £200....

Even in sport and sport+? A little google search yielded a number of threads where people were complaining of the same thing.

Don't think this issue even if on all cars and not just yours can enable the switch from PDK to MT.
Tried both GTR anf CGTS PDK. In terms of gearbox, PDK is absolutely stunning, quite fast as the GTR box. Before trying the PDK my only concern was the gearshift speed. Now nothing can change my choice.

I hope it helps people to make a choice.

I guess it's what you're used to really. I've maybe been driving the 8 speed ZF for too long!
