I guess it's what you're used to really. I've maybe been driving the 8 speed ZF for too long!
Oh blimey. Apples and pears. Slushbox vs dual clutch.

In seriousness, I get a transmission clunk sometimes at very low speed, and I can't quite work out why it happens sometimes and not others. But that is a 987 and there may have been changes.

Ours has arrived. It will be used as a daily by my other half and will replace her Cayman R. Carmine red, sports buckets, GTS interior package, X73, PDK, rear wiper (she hates not having one) and a few other things. The transit blocks were still in place on the front suspension when I took the photo's so it's sitting too high. The noise the car makes with the PSE switched on is pretty special.

Blimey. Your wife is either a keen driver or extremely gullible biggrin

Absolutely gorgeous - thoughts on the seats please? good enough for daily?
I know the adaptive will be perfect - but sports buckets just seem right for a sports car.

You just need to pick the right wife - mine has had a Chimaera as a daily!

Had the sports buckets in the Cayman R for nearly 3 years as a daily and have absolutely no complaints with them in terms of comfort so had no qualms about ordering them on the new car. The latest version of the sports bucket seat fitted in the GTS has a backrest that is not quite as upright as they were in the R so they should be even better for a daily.

It looks great,I do love some coloured stitching, I hope the buckets are not like the Audi buckets and now only fit for 15+ stone people.

They do look wider :-(, hope that's just looks, still the right choice for the GTS :-)

How do you mean? - they look exactly the same to me as the Cayman R/GT2 seats from 9x7 Gen??

Many congrats.
I was not aware about transit blocks...

Interiors look gorgeous, alcantara steering wheel?

By the way, Solihull PC?

isuk. Would be interested to hear how your wife/you find the GTS with PDK compared to your R (PDK/Manual)? which is undoubtably an excellent car. Congratulations great spec....

The seats look the same but the backrest angle has been altered slightly so it isn't quite as vertical. The difference is slight but noticeable.

No, I went for the leather wheel as the alcantara one would likely get trashed with hand cream and the like wink

We have the PDK box in our R. It's pretty good and had different software mapping to regular 987.2 Caymans I believe which improved the shift pattern. I really thought I'd miss a manual box when I bought the R but the PDK is great IMHO although I know it won't be to everyone's taste. I was used to paddle shift boxes in my other cars so it wasn't a difficult decision. The other half hates driving with a clutch ever since I bought her a 987.2 PDK Boxster S 5 years ago so I kind of made the rod for my own back there biggrin

Thanks, how's the 911 coming on? Would be great to see a thread on its restoration bearing the lengths you go to on your other projects. Great work..

Ok - been hedging that way, anyway.
Another tick in the box there, as yes the previous were maybe a little too upright.

Just to finalise on manual or PDK now. Currently have PDK and do miss shifting on a great engine myself
- the engagement of throws through the box and feeling the drivetrain buzzing a little in your hands.
The direct connection - even though i know PDK is faster and more efficient. Perfect solution would have been for Porsche to just admit the cock up and put the PDK shifter the correct way around on all cars - not just for PDK-S.

I had the opportunity to invest in another Italian classic so had to put the 911 up for sale. I've hopefully found a buyer ready to take the 911 project over from me as it is near completion now.

I am specing a GTS at the moment and have those seats on my short list , hence the close scrutiny .

Try the fully adaptive seats; I love them, infinite amount of adjust-ability - can really tighten the side of the base and back for spirited driving and great on long journeys.
