Stop Press! Manufacturer of equipment makes highly unspecific claim that its system is better than another.

Must be true. Why else would Alcon say it? It is, though, a little surprising that the only actual trial quoted is about pressure, rather than stopping distance. Hmmmm.

You are, Mr D, flogging a dead horse. Nobody is going to disregard (a) the physics (as carefully explained by several knowledgeable sorts) and (b) the hard data from actual tests in favour of your subjective experience.

Feel? Sure. Resistance to fade? Sure. Nice clean wheels? Sure. Stopping distance? Nope.

forget ceramics as I have said before "fioran0" states you will not get shorter stopping distance from ANY upgrade now !!!

he has def not into the loony bin the pic above proves it.

as for "subjective experience" I can only post the facts on what stops quicker !

Yes, but there are so many holes to your argument it is beyond belief.

I've owned a steel brake GT3 and a PPCB equipped GT3. If anything the steel brake'd car (a 996 btw) stopped better than my 997. Both were running PS Cup tyres.

That's all I can add to this debate. Others however, have used actual data (which I support) to prove you are wrong, yet you still won't accept it!

It's so frustrating reading the same old guff from you.

science said you were an ape, then changed it to a bird, then they changed to a fish.

what does science have to do with any thing so simple as running two cars side by side to prove a point.
banghead

If you dont understand the science then how can you hope to understand the physics?

Genuine question - Do you believe in the theory of evolution?

I offered £300 and the hire of bruntingthorpe to prove the point, please go away

at the end of the day you can do maths till the cows come home, but run two cars side by side and you get an answer.

they did the maths at the last F1 GP for Ferrari what ever he did he would have come 4th, he came 2nd :-)

some times you just have to go and do it !!! I have done it the PCCB car stops shorter in a Cayman or a Boxster.

people have owned these cars and every Cayman/Boxster has said they peform better, I wish GT3 owner would just have their own forum

I am not posting on this thread again, it's pointless posting findings to people who say black is white

and once again the Flat Earth society takes session.....

does the scientific method mean anything mrdevil?

isolate the variable you want to test...

create a controlled, normalised, repeatable test context that will (ideally) solely prove/disprove your hypothesis..

one not hostage to the influence of other variables (like # pistons )...or influences (weather)

Maybe if trains had carbon brakes they would be able to stop quicker wink

Say whatever you like,

i've compared PCCB's to Steels on the Cayman R and the PCCB's as standard are in a different league to the standard steels.

Drove Boxster with steels and CCB back to back at the Porsche experience centre, I have CCB on my Boxster end of (and they look better, and no dust).

How much weight saving is there on a PCCB car - that would shorten braking distances by some degree over an otherwise identical steel braked car, non?

A front ceramic disk will weigh about 12lbs a two piece steel will weigh about 22lbs a 1 piece will weigh about 26lbs of the same size.

I take it a few of you guys were racing along side Chris in his Cayman then when he raced them ? (BMCG ?)
or have been in is R on track ?

I think the threads out of control, if you cannot take Chris word for it, a guy who raced Caymans and now owns and tracks (very fast) his R with PCCB's then it's pointless going forward on this.

because , lets face it, the only people having the issue it seems are the many GT3 owners who jump on the band wagon.
def my very last post on the thread :-)

Ahh can't say I was along side Chris in his Cayman R....

but do find it rather intriguing that "Orthojoe" on Rennlist..

who tracks his Boxster Spyder (can we agree that's pretty akin to a Cayman R???) just a little

swapped out his PCCBs to Brembo Type III rotors....

that was a cost issue after he wore the ceramics out, he has now worn out his Brembo's and is going to fit cheap 1 piece disks now.

but don't let that stop you googling away about stuff you have no clue about...

mr devil, i feel rather honoured in joining your "no clue club".....thank you thank you ....

i shall consider that the highest validation of my opinion smilerolleyes

(and yes i drive a GT3 RS too...steels...naturally)
