Am still thinking the yellow wheels look good... maybe an old age thing...
No it's a bad taste thing, I'm old and wouldn't dream of it.

Yellow wheels looked great on the 968 Clubsports...

ha ha ...indeed. It's also nice that the different opinions can be shared without it turning into an argument!

That is very rare for PH these days!

Love the spec you've chosen.....I bet you can't wait!!

Like a child waiting for Christmas... But if they delay Christmas again I shall throw my toys out of my pram..... Ah, just realised, no pram anymore and this is my only toy!!

Seriously. Yes, thank you, this is one of the few times I have specced a new car. Historically I have bought showroom more often than not.

So, supposedly they start building mine on Sept 22, a month(ish) from now. I don't usually bet, and this is a pointless one as I will lose my money, but I bet nearer the time news of a further (but hopefully modest) delay will be forthcoming... I am very positive about my negativity!

Yes I did like the look of the Club-sport model, especially with the rear of the bucket seats painted yellow to match smile

Sometimes the anticipation makes the experience all the sweeter, or so they say. I have a self enforced 7 month wait for mine as I want it for my birthday biggrin Do you think they will limit the numbers of the GTS? It would make sense, but I have heard rumours of an extreme GT4 variant that would be strictly limited. It is one way to keep the values high though.

I am hoping the number is limited, maybe driven by (no pun intended) the number of people who choose the Boxster S over the GTS. This forum seems to suggest more opting for the 'S'. I have heard rumours of a Cayman R coming after the GTS but this would seem to undermine the introduction of the GTS re-introduction? Similarly a GT4? Also some rhetoric about the engine not giving up more BHP, though this would of course not preclude a bigger engine. I hope for both our sakes they stop at the GTS and not too many are sold!

The GTS is the high end volume model and here to stay until the next generation of cars. The GT4 will be the replacement for the Cayman R, from what we know it will be slightly more extreme but nowhere near the 991 GT3 as some have hoped. Unlikely to be limited because it won’t sell very well as it is. Just look at the Cayman R and Boxster Spyder, both were no big success back then (they sold less than 1500 of each if I recall).
Just enjoy the cars and don’t let the other things get to you. smile

... And I sold my Cayman R about 2 years ago, but as I have never bought the same car model twice, and fancied a flop top, I hope the Boxster GTS will not disappoint as a replacement.

Ordered my Carmine Red GTS two days ago, October build, Nov delivery.

I pretty much ticked every box on the Configurator screen at the OPC but skipped a few of the excessively priced bits.

In summary:

Carmine Red
GTS Black exterior package
Reversing camera inc park assist front/rear
Electric folding outside mirrors
Auto dimming mirror and rain sending wipers
Fuel cap in aluminium
PDK
20mm lower sport suspension
20 inch Caerra S Wheel with partial black gloss wheels (alloy rim edge remains)
Carmine Red tacho dial
GTS Interior package Carmine Red
Seat Heating
Cruise control
2-zone auto climate control
Light design package
Adaptive Sports seats plus 18-way electric adjustable
Sport design steering wheel
Bluetooth for phone
Bose sound system
DAB radio
PCM with satnav
Paint protection
Wheel, tyre, bodywork cover

That's it, quite the list indeed and it gets me to the same price as a 991 manual Carrera without options, but the GTS is the better car for what I want to do, mainly fun blasts in the SW of England.

Amazing spec, and a quick delivery too
Truly a car for all occasions, sports chassis for 'spirited' driving and all the comforts to make it usable on longer trips

Spec not too different from my GTS. I was tempted by the red but decided racing yellow. Was the 2nd toughest decision after whether to opt for the sports suspension which like you, I did. The decision was helped by a quick chat with Henry Catchpole of EVO who drove the car in Majorca. Nice chap! You seem to have hit lucky with build and delivery! Mine has been delayed from an August to a September build with delivery to the dealer of October 6th.

Congrats on your yellow GTS!

Not counting my chickens yet, October build slot has been promised by the rep but not yet confirmed by the factory, fingers crossed. Not stressed on it really since winter is not the ideal time for getting the most out of a roadster anyway.

Yeah why skimp on 20mm lower ride (no cost option) and nice firm suspension if you're going to spend most of the time chucking the car into corners smile
