Congrats on your yellow GTS!

Not counting my chickens yet, October build slot has been promised by the rep but not yet confirmed by the factory, fingers crossed. Not stressed on it really since winter is not the ideal time for getting the most out of a roadster anyway.

Yeah why skimp on 20mm lower ride (no cost option) and nice firm suspension if you're going to spend most of the time chucking the car into corners smile
I was promised an August build and it is now leaving the factory on October 6th (allegedly) so sadly losing the end of the summer. Suggest take no prisoners on any attempt at a 'should be' promise from your dealer, and go for the 'will be' furious

Look forward to posted pictures in due course lick

Seems mine left the factory on the 15th October.... Now on a boat... Knowing my luck it will be stuck at sea in this storm!

Very much hoping for a next week pick up but getting used to being disappointed.

Next time I shall buy off the shelf methinks!

It's best to put the actual delivery out of your mind until you get that call from your OPC. I am not in any great rush to be honest, my car will be finished next Monday 26th but I am off to Florida in ten days anyway which will make the shipping period seem shorter.

I am mainly interested in getting a GTS per se, they are a limited run car which will be rarer than an S so I wanted to snaffle one while I could.

Are they actually limited though? I have no idea, just asking the question smile

No Porsche GTS is 'limited' run. Just a likely smaller production run than the S variant.

Sorry, poor choice of words. I am basing the future rarity of the 981GTS on just how few 997GTS's are in the classifieds, since I expect most owners will hold onto them longer than normal.

I was a seriously considering the Jaguar F-Type because of the superb exhaust sound of the V6-S, but the GTS with its tweaked PSE and Sound Symposer now sounds better, much better.

Plus it's mid engined, handles better and looks nicer in GTS guise.

And nobody seems to be speccing Carmine Red, so that makes mine rarer still smile

Mine was promised for mid September when it was still sunny so kind of feel had over having been coerced at short notice to put down a deposit.

I tested the f-type and thought it felt heavy and the exhaust note a tad contrived. Stepped into a Boxster S and as Koorby says, a completely different feel and sound. The f-type is good but the Boxster a step up.

Given the limited number of build slots for the GTS it seems inevitable they will have some scarcity premium.

Hope to post pictures one day soon.

Well thanks for your suggestions and I love some of the cars specced on here, but at the end of the day I went for the specification I wanted smile

White
Standard alloys
Roll-bar in body colour
Auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors with rain sensor
Park assist front and rear
Aluminium look fuel filler cap
PDK
Standard interior
Heated seats
Bose
Mobile phone prep
cruise control
2 zone automatic air-conditioning(should be standard!!)
The car exists physically and was at build station 8 when I spoke to the dealer last week, and is being delivered to them on the 12th of Feb, that is going to be a test of my mettle to see if I can wait until the 23rd of March to take delivery..... I'm getting exited now!

And your spec is good!

I know most people don't like the elements of yellow inside my car but like you, it is what I wanted, and am now enjoying biggrin

And as enjoying it has to be the main point of buying something like the GTS good on you.

Only thing there that doesn't tick the box for me is the fuel filler, it's still plastic and you can't see it which baffles me.

Otherwise the GTS is awesome, I toyed with a Carmine red model but ended up going down the Cayman route.

Going on today's Cayman GT4 launch it's be interesting to see when the Boxster Spyder/GT4 is launched.

That's likely to be a very special limited run car.

I know that will be an awesome car, but I would like to try one before I would change it for my GTS, and I ordered mine back in August/September. Maybe I could bag a drive of one smile
