sorry - I know I am biased, but I would take the Spyder all day long over the RUF....

I suppose it is very different - each to their own - but thats a lot of money

Expect depreciation of EPIC proportions.

This, or a GT3RS?

Heavy depreciation,yes....and as a long term investment the GT3 RS wins hands down again but for me RUF Porsche's have always hit the spot with there exclusivity, would take that 3800S over a GT3 all day long but each to their own I guess..smile

Lovely car - boring interior though for so much money!

A well specced Boxster GTS will cost about £70k

108k Euro is about £85k, for the exclusivity and long term desirability that's not bad.

Not cheap, but what a brilliant car you would have

Have to agree with you evojam. Bought a new heavily specced 981 Boxster last year and absolutely love the car. Could have had a nearly new (or not so new!) 911 in various guises for the same money but preferred the Boxster.
However, looking at the Ruf 3800S, this must be the ultimate roadster. Currently doing the man maths and thinking about boring out to 3800 or swapping mine for a Ruf. Still struggling to get it all to add up eek

It's the Boxster Porsche would never build ofcourse for obvious reasons,I bought my 987 Boxster over a 911 as always been a fan of mid-engined cars and prefer open top motoring..Its definitely the ultimate incarnation of the 981 Boxster and must be fantastic to drive with the Carrera S engine fitted,RUF put alot of R&D into their road cars and if funding allowed hand on heart I would put a deposit on that car tomorrow smile

I want to like it but the wheels look aftermarket and it's got a chin like Bruce Forsyth. I've not got €130k anyway

I'm not really into the white and black but I know many are.

I would say that a similar spec new standard 981 S would be £65k - perhaps a little more.

Given this actually has a 3.8 Carrera S engine in it and other associated mods, I would suggest that it is one of those dream - I have a cool car people know about with something really sexy most people would guess by looking at it. If I could have my GT Silver and Carrera Red with the RUF 3800 underpinnings and had an extra 20k ... I'd think it was money well spent.

Paul.

Who would warranty it . I think if I was going to go for the Ruf it would be in Cayman form but the idea of all that cash and have no Porsche backup would be a worry.
