Or Boxster, preferably at least an S?

A small group of us are going to Scotland in September and a pal of mine, who is thinking of buying a Cayman, thinks it would be an ideal opportunity to try one.

Does anyone know of anywhere that would hire him one, preferably a Cayman S but he'd be happy with a Boxster?

Ta everso for any help.

Check Hertz Prestige Collection. I recall that they had 981 Boxsters, but rental was quite expensive. Plus Scotland might be difficult. Plus the cars have quite low milage limits with excess miles charges that make the rentals even more expensive.

Alternatively, if your friend goes on holiday elsewhere you can rent 981 all over the place in the USA (big party cities... LA, Miami etc.) I rented one in San Francisco and did a driving tour of the Napa Valley.

And in Germany, Sixt I think does them. Also Porsche have their own travel website where their tours include Porsche rentals.

But if it is Scotland only then it might be tricky.

If all else fails, maybe try one of the main dealers to see if your friend can do a 24h test drive. It would be fine, I am sure, as long as they were given opportunity to quote on the new build if your friend buys one.

Thanks for that. My pal is far too tight to ever consider buying new. It'll be interesting to see if he even hires, he's trying to get the guy he's travelling with to halves with him rolleyes

We all think we should try to get him in a decent Cayman 'cos we think it will shatter his current love affair with his bloody Golf GTi. smile
