Boxster 987 - Roof sticking out?
Discussion
So I picked up my new (to me) 987 Boxster S yesterday. When I test drove the car, I noticed that the convertible roof 'stuck out' from the guiding plastic arm at the side. The dealer (an independent) promised to fix it, and upon picking up the car the problem appeared to be solved. He said to leave the roof closed for a day or so, as he'd tightened one of the cables and it needed to settle in. I picked up the car, and left the roof closed for a day as requested. This evening I drove with the roof down, and upon closing it noticed that the same thing had happened. It's only on one side - pictures below.
I can go back to the dealer to get it fixed, but its a 100 mile + round trip and if it is fixable easily at home then I'd prefer to do that. Can anyone identify the issue? Is it simply the case that a cable needs tightening (and if so, how would a novice like me do that?!?) or is it something more serious?
In the mean time, any thoughts on whether the roof will be rain proof? The hood comes down on the outside of the guiding arm so I would guess so.
Thanks!

It's the elastic inside the hood fabric that needs tightening or replacing. There's a few detailed threads about it on Boxa.net - you may need to register to read them.

Perfect, thanks. Looks a bit complicated for me so I might take it back to the dealer to have it fixed - but at least I know its nothing too serious!http://www.boxa.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=6150...

Assume it's not going to leak in the interim though?!
Mine has something different gone I think. These are thin grey cord-like cables screwed to the sides which appear to then be joined to a section of elastic/bungee. Think it's one of the parts your link talks about - tensioner or fold placer - just can't see where to route a new one once I get the new part...
From what I could gather from Trimmania, I'm not sure it would be worth trying to replace the parts yourself unless you were pretty handy with a spanner. They thought it meant having the whole roof off (sorry haven't gone through the link above in any detail so not sure if this is true or not).
They said on most cars you can simply tighten the elastic rather than replace it, which is a lot easier (and as I say, they will do it for £80).
