Afternoon all

I have recently picked up an '08' Cayman S, which to me seems to have too much play in the gearstick. The play is pnly side to side not up and down, and is the same in any gear. I have read various comments, does this sound normal for the car, stretched cables, or the broken plastic thingy people talk of (technical term that I think!) I have a movie clip I could email for ref. though can not upload onto the forum.

Thanks in advance before i start dismantling and causing myself more problems!!

The ideal time to fit a short shifter, probably the best mod per pound you can have

Hi, thanks for the reply, I had been considering a short shift to solve the problem, I had seen the design tek option, which also looks identical to the cheaper ebay alternative, any experience of either, as i presume the opc version has no real benefit above the other options, looks relatively simple to do..I hope!

Whatever make you opt for it will make a huge difference, and make the car far more rewarding to drive.

As you have asked I have B&M shifter, which is the most common aftermarket shifter and two years later its still providing good service without any fault.
