the 987.2 never sat well :-(, it's not even that low on my R which is said to be another 20mm lower

Uh huh, that Audi doesn't look to bad tbh, maybe I'm being unfair but I remember the gaps looking gappy on my S3, compared to my 130i on msport where the rear wheels appear to tuck nicely in the arch....

1st world problems eh?

Just buy one and lower it to a sensible ride height then.

In your dreams. wink

Porsche mechanics are already getting trained on new 4-cylinder engines and the venerable NA flat six engines will not stand a chance against future turbo 4-cylinder engines. Matthias Müller announced 400hp+ from their 4 cylinder engines a while back.
The Cayman S desperately needs a sizable power bump with the Golf R, A45, new RS3, M2 in mind.

The 981.1 GT4 will most likely be the last 6-cylinder mid-engine Porsche in this price range.
The 4-pot turbo sounds really interesting; a lightweight motor with 400bhp that does >40mpg. The best fun I had in a Porsche recently was a 1969 912; flat everywhere and lovely chassis balance.

I wonder if Moosey will sell me his place in the queue?

Enjoyable car to drive. I think for some reason it doesn't photograph too well, but in the flesh it's it's a car that has a lot of road presence.

Same with the 360 for me - looks better in the flesh than photos.

I think it's the high rear of the 430 that looks a bit odd on the spider?

I don't like the direction Porsche is going with its development bringing in 4 pot turbo's engines and pushing PDK auto's it looks like my manual 987.2 Cayman will be my first and only Porsche...there will be nothing in their future mid engine line-up that I'll buy.

Good lord. When are Porsche going to sort out the ride height?? Car looks like it's on stilts...
I think the effect is worsened in one of the pictures because the car is cresting a rise at speed, hence lightening it on the suspension increasing the effective ride height for a split second or two when the photo was taken.

Some close up photos here of the GT4. Looks as if it is running MPSC's and they are most definately larger than stock.

Wheel size and arch gaps is to my mind all a lot of cosmetic flapping about and has very little to do with driving. Mid-engine and rear-engine cars always look like that because there's no weight in the front. If you're that bothered - buy a bag of cement....
