Firstly, apologies in advance for another IMS thread...
I've found, from the details on my Certificate of Authenticity, that the engine in my Boxster is a M96/26. Apparently the '26' designation relates to it being a 2006 model year, even though the manufacture date was May 2005 & registration date was June 2005.
I know that there is no definative answer to which bearing each of the M96 engines have in them, but what are the chances that mine has the larger, more reliable bearing (that can't be swapped out without splitting the crankcase)??
