Speak to David Delgado at Mayfair Porsche. I do a lot of work at his house and he is a genuine bloke. He could give you all th low down on what types of spec suit that car and what you shouldn't waste the extra money on. smile

I am sure it's a personal thing, some people will not spec anything as Porsche intended for a light weight weekend car, some people will spec the whole lot if an only car and want more luxury feel and toys again as Porsche intended with a options list.

David Delgaro spec would be his spec/choice.

Yep, it's fairly evident from this thread that naturally, everyone has a totally different set of options that are absolutely a requisite and other things that they are happy to not have.

There are no right or wrong answers, it's just about finding the right balance in a car between the spec, the price, the mileage, the history, condition, warranty etc etc.

Correct but Some folks are bewildered by the vast array of options that you can get and some of the options you can't see or feel (if that makes sense). All I'm saying is that IF there were a choice of cars in their network then he might be able to assist in getting the RIGHT car at the right price. It doesn't hurt to make the call smile

Looks much better than the dumpy 981... more classical in the porsche sense and with feline lines

If my CR never had a PSE or a prospective purchase never had a PSE. Carnewal conversion would be my choice lots cheaper and a great sound a little more BHP according to Gert

Xenons I believe, but like the rear storage divider it has it was a "nice" to have rather than "must" have - I like to keep spec simple but with only a few of these cars coming up you can't be too picky on the "nice" to haves I guess - key for me really was manual, buckets and it being a clean original car with low miles. I have warranty to March 2017 with was a nice surprise!
Agree thats what i looked for.
I know you will enjoy it once you get out driving.

I'm tempted - but will keep the original.

I spoke to Gert at Carneal yesterday just to clarify. He buys L&R sides of a new Cayman R exhaust and does his mod. There's no exchnage for the Cayman R exhaust from Carnewal. That would be fine for me anyway if I were to sell the car i'd put the original one back on.

You will certainly not regret purchasing a Cayman R.

I bought mine earlier this year after wanting a 997.1 GT3 RS as we know the values of anything GT3 went mental this year. I have not been disappointed with the R at all.

The spec i was after -

Spyder wheels
Buckets
PSE
Peridot Green
Sports Chrono
Manual

I managed to find one with everything minus sports chrono, this was not a deal breaker for me. I also have the full alcantara trim and steering wheel that was a good trade off.

Since i have had the car i have fully powder coated the wheels in black as i was not happy with the silver lip with the black, plus the insides in silver are just horrendous for showing muck straight away...

Here is a quick video from the weekend- The PSE sounds great now with the valves always open.

If I hadn't (very luckily Ill add) bought a 997 RS when I did I would be in a Cayman R now. Your green one above would be my perfect spec. Borrowed a demo for 3 days that was green, really surprised me how much it suited it.
