Trust me, if it's advertised anywhere, I've seen it!

I've got email alerts coming out of my ears!

Spoken to Kees @ Paragon and it doesn't have PSE, called Porsche Solihull and they quoted £2,288 to retro fit it....no Porsche warranty either making it a very expensive car if I wanted to get the PSE fitted and warranty added......

Was just thinking that there might be someone mulling over selling car and wanted to avoid a dealers low ball offer!

The right car is out there and ahppy to pay £40k+ for the right one, just impatient waiting for it! smile

There was a manual Peridot car at Glasgow OPC that was almost perfect, but no PCM. I know insisting on PCM probably isn't for the purists, but I want it!! laugh
Yup, I bought it. I was looking for a similar spec to you but even more picky on colour and I wanted climate control. I had decided I had to have PCM but when the Glasgow car came up it was a good spec otherwise and when I saw it, it was mint. Deal was done (after 10 days of haggling). Do I wish it had PCM.... yes and no. The Gen 1 Cayman interior without it looked terrible IMHO but the Gen 2 with the screen looks OK. The universal audio interface with USB would have been great, but I just bought a little bluetooth receiver and plugged it into the AUX port - streams music from my phone perfectly. Anyway, I digress. Good luck with your hunt. I'm sure you'll love it when you find one. I've not been able to drive mine in the dry yet even but I'm already loving it. thumbup

Congrats, looked a great car! I was on the phone to them within minutes of the advert going live and would have been on a same day plane if they'd said "yes it has PCM"!!

I must have PCM.

I really want the PSE. But for the right deal i could live without it and add it later.

I'm not entirely fussed over other things like buckets, air con or other things.

Mileage/price isn't really an issue as long as the spec and price is in line.

Feel like I'm searching for Unicorn poo!! laugh

You're not wrong. It took me ages to find mine with the spec I wanted.

The longer it goes on, the more chance I'll lose the will to live and venture back to the dark side!!

Always worth getting what you want with a car. If I were you I'd hold out for the PSE, for my money it adds ot the experience. Same for the buckets. Not the seats for the larger gentleman, but I much prefer them to the 'normal' seats. Hope you find something with all the toys you want.

Roughly, what should a decent spec manual Cayman R (2011 / 24k miles / 5 months OPC warranty) be advertised privately for?

very good question I am going to ask £42k for mine with 19k miles on it and hugh spec, PCM ,Full leather, PSE, SS, Bose , Buckets, Spyder wheels, Sports crono
But I do have a list of people to email to offer the car as loads of people ask me when am I selling it inc. the previous owner again :-).

Still scared to sell it....

Never thought private over dealer price as the cars are what they are and the prices are what they are depending on spec.
I always try and buy private so I can meet and chat to the owner, dealers cars are just bought in and NO history is pasted on. invoiced are normally binned etc.

It is hard to guage as the well spec'd cars seem to sell very quickly. £42k was around what I was thinking, just in two minds whether to decide a price and advertise now, or hang on until the GT4 is annouced.

going by how many people were without a car when the 991 GT3 came along, I am keeping my R as long as possible,

OPC could say your car will be here April you sell up and you have no sports car for summer 2015.

42 / 43 k is the going rate for a good example with a good spec even seem the same at opc for 45 plus for the right car.
They are awsome cars and rare as with any limited model they command more than the average run of the mill.

When i bought mine i had a small option list of 6 wants i had to have the mint car i found had 5 of those options sometimes you have to be a little flexable buyer used otherwise you might never buy one.

The one i got had lowish mileage 10 k at the time
Man box
Buckets
Spyder wheels
Chrono
Pse

That the 5 out of the 6 it was such a nice car i bought it it has a couple of other options black painted wheels centre caps
Alcantara steering wheel a couple of other option that slip my mind at moment.

The Cayman. R is an awsome Porsche .
Ps mines not for sale its taken me ages to find the right Porsche and i have had over a dozen models including a couple of 996 GT3 s
Just do it they are a great drivers car for the road and look to be a great investment buy one now before they rocket like so many limited editions.

I made the mistake of p/x mine just over a year ago with approx. 8k for £36.5k

Should have just kept on to it and probably would have made some £ on it too!

Had many nice options too

Basalt
Spyder wheels partially black
Buckets
Manual
Short shift
PSE
Sport Chrono
LSD (Can't remember if std. now)
Tracker
Alcantara wheel / arm rest with crest
Sound package plus
Phone prep
Rear wiper
Rear park sensors
Maybe a few other bits whichI cant remember now

I wonder which lucky person owns it now? Anyone on here? It maybe the only one with PSE and black exhaust tips (got retro-fitted to get rid of the sooted up chrome look)
