nice but 45k with no:

Sports crono
PCM
SS

SO a few main nice things missing and a bunch of other would be nice options missing but not big main items unless you are more fussy.

PCM does now seem to be on peoples want list of late !
SS? Do these cars sell under the radar more if they are the right spec? If the gt4 doesn't come off maybe ill look at these . Most seem to prefer manual to PDK im learning

I can agree to that, except I wanted PDK not manual. I guess the point I'm making is that for manual or PDK, the cars are out there - but well specced cars are at a premium.. Can we agree on that? wink
of course :-), the R was launched in the low sale time so hard to sell cars back then, options were expensive and a lot of cars were dealer ordered with Sports seats, (but gain always a buyer for sports seats and turbo wheels a dealer fav order it seems)

most things people can give up, so PDK or manual buckets and spyder wheels is now high up the want list.

PCM is other people want list now, leather was a must on my want list, as you say no one gets a perfect car , I wanted Xenons also but very few cars with Xenons and the must haves I needed.

not under the radar, but OPC's have people names waiting for the right spec for them so some cars come into the OPC and straight back out again, I know OPC Leicester sold 3 R's to the same person who was trying to get a spec he wanted so kept swapping !
the last nice white spec car sold in a day at Leicester with very nice spec.

the cars sticking for a few months always have big bits missing or are higher miles or are too expensive for the spec.

SS = Short shifter (Option code "XCZ")

For me it's either radio delete (track car) or PCM (daily driver or weekend car). I'm looking for a car with PCM.
My logic is that I don't want a car without speakers/radio so rather than adding weight for the appalling CD radio with its last-century display, I may as well go all the way and get PCM for little additional weight... but in return I get a decent radio, iPod connector, bluetooth and a navigation system that's not completely unusable just yet thanks to the updates. The trip statistics and sport chrono plus laptime-counter are a nice bonus, not that I'd ever use any of that.

yes as I said has the main free bits, remember Buckets and SPyder wheels were FREE on this car !!!

it's quite a basic cheap car though for the £45k they want for it.

PCM seems high up on peoples lists, SS(short shift) is a must have imo but can be added for £450 and the R being a Sports fun car needs Sports crono imo, but you can also add that button and software for £700/£800.

also no warranty so add in the OPC 111 check 1 year warranty SS and Sports mode the car is £47,200 and missing out on PCM and full leather and a few smaller items.

I am sure people will pick my car apart when it's for sale (used to that) lol, but it does have a BIG spec sheet ;-)

I figured 45k was a tad on the high side yes. Sports Chrono I have on my gt3 and its a waste of space IMO.
PCM I guess is preferable as I know its 2.5k as an add. Short Shift is a must as the box on my 7GT3 is fab and id miss that. Im not feeling the love for PDk

So mine has all the things highlighted in bold

Manual
Spyder wheels
Buckets seats
PSE
AC

nice to have is
SS - Good but nowhere near as good as cup cables IMHO, which is what I will get
Sports mode - I may add this
PCM
Telephone module

some will also say must haves to the above.

very nice to have
full leather
Bose
parking sensors
usb in glove box
xenons

However, as matters stand, still think I'd prefer to mod it than get a GT4 and then just keep it forever.

I find the throttle a bit dead out of sports mode ;-(

also sports mode gives you a bit of slip so stops PSM cutting in all the time which is very annoying and too nanny like.

So for a Cayman/Boxster I think sports mode is a must have, forget the clock/timer part though.

but I run sports mode 80% of the time the other 20% is PSM fully off, I never run none sports mode

on a PDK car it's a mega must have as it gives you the fast shifts.

All understood. Worth adding with my 7GT3 I ALWAYS have the sports button on but never look at that pointless clock

I agree.

From what I've seen there are cars out there, but there always seems to be something missing from the good spec ones.

I'm talking about manuals by the way, not even looked at the PDK.

That Black one from Southere Sky is a nice spec. But it doesn't have Xenons, PCM, SS, leather interior or a Porsche warranty.

Hehe thanks for the offer.

Green I take it?

As much as I like the colour I don't think I'd personally be able to own it. No offence.

No problem, it's a great car, I had a '10 Boxster Spyder before I got my GT3RS, but I always thought the Spyder was better on the road, but as the hood was a bit impratical I though Cayman-R would be the answer now the GT3RS is rarely used and frankly it is! It took me a while to find it - it's a '12 car Manual, PSE, Buckets, Alcantara Sports Design Steering Wheel, CDR Radio/CD, Air con and Xenon lights. I think that's it on the spec front, it does'nt have Sport Chrono, but that feature (button)can be added by an OPC without the hideous dashboard wart!

I only feed it Shell Optimax (99 Octane) and it lives in a dehumidified garage and is washed/dried after every trip out - consider it pampered or me having OCD! smile

Lets see how I get on with a GT4 allocation smile
Sounds very nice mate. I'm OCD too, but aren't we all to some extent.

Good luck with the allocation, if you get it, send me an email via my profile on here and i'll be able to pick it up instantly, where as I might not see this thread for a few days or week...
