Didn't want the buckets, wanted PSE, full leather and ideally cup holders (spyder didn't have them, annoying on long trips) - other than those missing things it's a good spec for me. The way it looks in Guards Red makes up for it.
Didn't you own a CR at some point? I drove one a few years ago but forgot how good they were until I drove this one last week, I can't see me driving the GT2 much when this arrives

Nottingham had a green one in with buckets etc a few weeks ago... Don't know whether it has sold though as no mention on their site now..
That one had had a few things changed on it Eg fully black wheels, green plastic inserts to the seats etc...Sarnie said:

Always wondered that on mine, if and when the wheels ever need a re-furb i'd have to keep the silver rim I think, it breaks up the sea of blackness under the arch. noticed most of the cars coming up for sale all have the comfier but lardier sports seats. Are the Porsche buckets available as a retro fit? and how much?
RE PDK, Don't know if I could live without a manual shift. To me its part of the thrill of rapid driving (unless sat in traffic!). I'd need to try a pdk again to remind and convince myself.

I initially wasn't bothered at all about the bucket seats. But, I bought one with them and now would never buy a car without them!!RE PDK, Don't know if I could live without a manual shift. Its advisable if you think you might want them, which IMO I think the Cayman R is not complete without, that you try and get a car with them already. They are rather expensive to buy as a retrofit, about £7k...!

Or you could try your luck on ebay I guess.

I had the bucket seats in my Cayman S Sport Edition, thought they were good but I can take or leave them, my 997 GT2 has the adaptive armchairs and I love them, plenty of support for track driving if you take the time to set them up properly.
My incoming Cayman R has heated sports seats, I'd rather have a warm arse when I use the car in December than some marginal extra cornering support on the 2 track days I'll do a year.

I had the sport seats in the Cayman S, if you're using the car as a daily hack then to be fair they are a better option for that, allows for slouching and shifting about. Might try a Will I am metaphor ..
like buying a angle cake with no wing bits, still taste nice, but looks pants and not getting your moneys worth.
great if you want the cake at 30% off the normal one, as it's still yummy.
when you say it's how the car is used, then if one wants a limo one should buy a limo no ?
R is pitched with 7k Buckets FREE not even the GT3 or GT4 has free buckets, so imo it's a hugh part of what the car is and to that end should have buckets :-)
A B road blaster or even the daily means pulling 1G corner forces in this car.
And last on long trips I find the buckets much softer to sit on and the chairs give me numb bum and are quite hard.
still drives the same though which is sweet, just not the full monty imo, cars would have to be 5k less for me to think about buying one with no buckets.
this is as always imo :-)
