well again 38-45k depending on seller and buyer I see private sales with no warranty maxed at £43k

OPC sales £45k minted and serviced up.

then you have to look at if the 4 year Major service is due/done , disks, tyres and pads all ok.

no price fits all.

That's helpful thank you. As I'm sure you'd guessed I have one to that spec, bought from an OPC less than 18 months ago. Love the car and nice that I'm not losing any money.
Tempted by a GT4 one day but in no hurry.

The GT4 will not be such a good daily driver I expect.

I want to see how the electronic steering compares although I'm no expert so be interesting to see if I'd notice

and mine, but a nice set of JRZ passive 2 ways would go on it quite nice :-)

add some 2/3 ways and the GT4 is a ultra weapon.

only 3 are must haves imo

Manual
Buckets
Spyder wheels

that is the car any thing else is what one wants or likes so no right and wrong, also most other stuff can be added, as can wheels and seats but only at a cost of £12k

I guess most people want AC to add to the 3 big things

then all the small wants like PSE, PCM, SS, Crono etc but all less important and be added easy. esp PSE, SS and sports mode.

+1. CR needs buckets, manual, spyder wheels and AC (as its a closed top). If I was buying a Spyder, just, buckets, manual nd Spyder wheels would be essential. I drove a CR without AC and it got way too hot, way too quick, not very pleasant at all!

I did a tour in my 987 involving long (8hr) stints in the driving seat and the heat soak from the engine 'in' the cabin was horrendous. Vented seats would have been lovely!

Yes that would be pretty awful. I ended up driving with the windows down - which wasn't ideal either!

Buckets are fine unless you are short - I believe they don't height adjust. (As far as I'm aware the buckets on the GT4 are the only ones that do).

why is being short an issue ?

the buckets make you sit higher than the sports seats. if anything being tall is the issue !

If there were a height adjustment I would just make sure it was at it's lowest setting short or tall.

people do make stuff up here about these cars !

You are, I believe, tall, I (and many peoples other halves) are very short. I've almost never had a low sportscar I didn't want to jack the seat up. It's a consideration - that's all. No big deal.

If I might add a little to this, the bucket seats do sit marginally higher than the sports seats at their lowest setting.

My other half used to drive my Cayman S with sports seats and had to raise them to their highest setting to be able to comfortably see over the dash, she's 5'2".

In the Cayman R with buckets, she can't drive it, because she sits too low.

So I agree, it's not quite true to say that the buckets are lower than the sports seats, but they certainly aren't as high and if you are vertically challenged then it's far from an ideal driving postition.

It should be possible to add some sort of custom made padding with velcro on both sides and put that below the lower seat cushion of the bucket seat, no?

I suppose you could, but seems more Heath Robinson than Porsche to me - I'd just go to Sports seats and be done with it. I have been known to put wooden blocks under the runners (on a Lotus Europa). But neither approach works if you are significantly taller than your other half.

my OF is 5,1" just pop a cushion in the bucket and she drives it ok.

Thing with girls is they want to be able to see the bonnet for some reason !

the steering wheel comes forward, the buckets slides forward, it's a non issue for small people and imo a bigger issue with taller people as you cannot drop the bucket unless you take out the rollers and fix it in place, that then drops the bucket a bit more if you are >6 foot and want to wear a helmet.
