I think it looks great in the green, Interestingly its about the only car/colour combination me & he Mrs agree on. The OPC one is tempting but in colour order Im P-Green/White/Red/Blue/Greys/ then black. Black just does not suit the lines or the R for some reason, but having said that it still looks bloody good. Just not as nice a Mr.Demons and when your dropping £40k+ on a second hand car you want it to look good.
Your order of colours is almost exactly the same as yours, although I simply would not have bought a grey, black or silver car.I was set on Peridot but every time one came up the Mrs kept saying that the colour was horrible, which is odd as I have a Phoenix yellow E46 which is a marmite colour too, and she loves that!!
Weird!
Mine's black - I think it looks pretty good. It's not too in yer face either! I may well take it to KDS Keltec for a platinum wet sand later in the year (or maybe next). It'll look unbelievable after that, the reddish / purple hue in the Basalt Black will really stand out after that. And because it's black, you'll get a really deep, flawless finish too!
I love my Basalt too.
A quick note about PDK and Sports Plus:
I have concluded that sports plus is essential in a PDK. Yes, in automatic mode it is stupid and jerky and high revs so it looks like you can't drive. But, push the stick left to manual, activate Sports Plus and the car is exhilaratingly alive and hooked up and it all suddenly makes sense. The car can dance. In mere sports, by comparison, the changes are slower to the point of seeming achingly slow after a while.

I read that too, interesting if its true...i'm not a believer in mapping NA engines generally but I kind of buy the argument that Porsche tune some engines differently depending on which model they are used in, however i'm still 100% sold on this one - although it goes without saying i'm more than happy to be proven wrong in this instance! Yeah the blue one. Is it Aqua Blue?
Also, not sure if I'm getting confused here, I know the carbon buckets and spyder wheels were standard on the R. But surely they can't be as expensive as I've read..
£5k for wheels and £7k for seats??
If you try to order them from Porsche, apparently so!Also, not sure if I'm getting confused here, I know the carbon buckets and spyder wheels were standard on the R. But surely they can't be as expensive as I've read..

When I was buying I considered a car without Spyder wheels and searched the net for a set and could only find them for sale individually for £900 each, in America.........
how many R's were actually sold in this country? Anyone know?
The other thing that struck me watching youtube vids is how many R's get spanked around tracks by magazines and/or used by places like the Silverstone centre as mules. Difficult to know if its one of the mis-used becoming available to buy, like the white one I saw being doughnuted about in a vid yesterday!

If you read this thread from the start you'll see that I unearthed two cars that were ex-PEC cars. I found video's of one of them being drifted round a track on Fifth Gear, photo's of another on the PEC track etc etc.The other thing that struck me watching youtube vids is how many R's get spanked around tracks by magazines and/or used by places like the Silverstone centre as mules. Some people said that they would have been maintained impeccibly by Porsche, but the history was enough to put me off....
