Paragon has one listed - white for £42k.

Got my 996 GT3 from them and have been very pleased with the car, their prep. and one follow-up warranty item.

just a very basic car with no options though, and as one can spend £20k on options people do like to hunt out cars with some thing !

not that the R needs anything, just buyers are fussy inc my self.

it would have to have at least some thing, ie, leather, Sports crono, PSE, SS, PCCB, Xenons even if it was just one of those.

But it is Manual, spyder wheels and buckets so a nice car, just a little to rich for what it has missing on the option list

Exactly.

If that car had PSE, I probably would have bought it, but I think it's too rich at £43k.

Porsche Solihull quoted me £2288 to retro fit the PSE. It also is out of Porsche warranty so to get that and the PSE you probably wouldn't see much change from £4k........makes it a pretty expensive car.......

If price is the only real objection then why not make an offer?

Ha!

I wouldn't be having this problem if people just spec'd them properly in the first place laugh

All I want for Christmas is PCM & PSE (in a Cayman R) cool

Everything else is open for debate. Not fussed so much over aircon, miles wouldn't put me off, a high price wouldn't either for the perfect car......somebody must fancy a swap soon..........if I refresh the Cayman classifieds section any more often I might crash the site!!! laugh

Why does it have to have PCM?

I had it down as nice to have when I was looking, but can't say I miss not having PCM. I wouldn't even bother speccing it in a new car now when an iPhone can do just as good, if not better job.

I can't rationally explain it but to me it's a fundamental part of having a high spec car....I don't want to spend £40k+ potentially on a car and then be looking at Google maps on my iPhone on my lap whilst driving or struggling to attach a TomTom to the windscreen or to the dash with wires everywhere etc. I can't explain it any more than "I just want it".

I recently cancelled my GTS order but the first thing I'd spec'd was PCM, wasn't even a consideration of whether to have it or not.

Decent spec cars do come up, it took me 5 months (eventually found a car in May) and you're not as fussy as I was.

Just be ready to move VERY quickly, my car went online on a Tuesday, I bought Thursday, someone called and offered to pay asking price over the phone minutes after I'd paid the deposit (Bristol OPC).

PSE is well worth it btw, short shift kit also if you're after a manual.

I agree with you on PCM, I'd feel short changed without on +£40k motor. If you buy from a dealer don't forget to get them to update to full post code (I did....was annoyed paying £150 later on).

Good luck,

LN7

Cheers for that, if only just for reassurance that I'm not the only one set on PCM!!

Trust me, I'm ready to pull the trigger immediately, I think I was on the phone to Paragon literally minutes after the ad went live.....

My only regret at the moment is the car that Cameron Cars sold recently, the owner was a PH'er and offered it me for the PX price and as I was still dithering over the GTS at the time I passed it up which I now regret!

No, not a massive fan of blue cars. Plus I don't think it has PCM, Chrono etc and is one of the most expensive cars on the market.......

No PCM is a deal breaker for me - agree especially at that price!

correct no PCM or sports mode or leather or Bose so bloody expensive with those missing.

yes a rarer colour, but imo that's for a good reason, it's blue !!!

white, red or peridot are the colours to have imo and look good with the black detailing the R has , but red seems also a slow seller, even though that's what I started out looking for and think it looks great in red.

White and Peridot are no question the fastest sellers. Peridot being marmite I guess but works well, but then White is marmite these days.

wonder how much a SVP 3.7/3.9 engine rebuild would cost in my R instead of going for a GT4, the steering really is a worry in this GT4after driving the GTS models.
