I'm sure someone mentioned a high mileage R that was going through an auction recently, this would probably be it;

Pricing on these is very odd, they all seem to be worth £40k, spec, milage, warranty all make bugger all difference in the 'for sale price'. Guess thats why lots of these are sitting around for ages and others are selling in minutes of going up, this one is expensive, no OPC warranty and has done 70k miles, has the wrong seats and gearbox and still they want 40k, good luck
Sure the ad says it has the becket seats? And PSE? No PCM I don't think.

Pricing is extremely varied, I think thats what happens when there are so few about, people just aren't sure where to price them. Although this car would seem to be about £10k overpriced to me.............

To be fair, now the pics are up, it looks decent. The biggest issue is the price not being in line with the mileage imo.....

This seems nice....buckets, manual, spyders and 2 year porsche warranty, so no aftermarket mods if you like your cars factory standard

I think it looks great in the green, Interestingly its about the only car/colour combination me & he Mrs agree on. The OPC one is tempting but in colour order Im P-Green/White/Red/Blue/Greys/ then black. Black just does not suit the lines or the R for some reason, but having said that it still looks bloody good. Just not as nice a Mr.Demons and when your dropping £40k+ on a second hand car you want it to look good.
Your order of colours is almost exactly the same as yours, although I simply would not have bought a grey, black or silver car.

I was set on Peridot but every time one came up the Mrs kept saying that the colour was horrible, which is odd as I have a Phoenix yellow E46 which is a marmite colour too, and she loves that!!

Weird!

Yeah the blue one. Is it Aqua Blue?

Also, not sure if I'm getting confused here, I know the carbon buckets and spyder wheels were standard on the R. But surely they can't be as expensive as I've read..

£5k for wheels and £7k for seats??
If you try to order them from Porsche, apparently so!

When I was buying I considered a car without Spyder wheels and searched the net for a set and could only find them for sale individually for £900 each, in America.........

how many R's were actually sold in this country? Anyone know?

The other thing that struck me watching youtube vids is how many R's get spanked around tracks by magazines and/or used by places like the Silverstone centre as mules. Difficult to know if its one of the mis-used becoming available to buy, like the white one I saw being doughnuted about in a vid yesterday!
If you read this thread from the start you'll see that I unearthed two cars that were ex-PEC cars. I found video's of one of them being drifted round a track on Fifth Gear, photo's of another on the PEC track etc etc.

Some people said that they would have been maintained impeccibly by Porsche, but the history was enough to put me off....

Decent spec too. Stupidly low mileage........wondered if it's even been serviced? Porsche warranty?

Silver looks better with the black wheels but I still don't think I could buy one in Silver??

Lazy driver too! Less than 1000 miles a year , perfect spec for me except the colour , I would prefer pdk but not that fused !
Yep, the colour is the killer.........in white, blue, red or peridot it would fly out the door.....someone will buy it quickly if only for the mileage/potential investment opportunity........if there even is one!

Funny, when looking for mine, I specifically wanted one in platinum. I would have considered other colour's, but that was my preference. If you look at buying patterns over the last 6 months, these cars sell well in all colours. However, your silver's another mans peridot or red!
Yep, thats why I said I'm sure somebody will buy it, not everyone is after the more "In your face colours". So, bizarrely, this may sell quicker to someone specifically after a Silver car.....rather than someone like me who kept waitingg and waiting for the next White/Peridot car to come along in the right spec.....if you're after a silver car, there may not be a better one out of the circa 200 UK cars, better than this one?

I still think its a bit pricey for a private sale but someone might pay for that low mileage.....
