Cruise (unless adaptive) is imo a waste of time. Limit has it's uses. Most of my cars in recent years have had cruise and I've never used it.

Since being pulled in the past I use cruise a lot on motorways and average speed areas. Usefulness of cruise very much depends on the journeys you make.

TBF I agree somewhat, regular cruise is far more use on the continent than in the UK I find, mostly too much traffic here.

Mine was a Cayman - if it was a Boxster and I drove with the top down a lot, heated seats would climb up my priority list and climate climb down.

I use cruise a lot, especially in the M6 50 limit!

ACC is useless unless all your cars have it. Jumping out of an ACC car into another without you'll find you go bowling up to the car ahead expecting yours to slow by itself.

I don't see that. I simply don't and wouldn't use vanila cruise control, but would on occasion use ACC. If I didn't have ACC, I'd use Limit in most similar circumstances.

Cruise is unusual in that virtually every manufacturer has a different system and location, so it usually takes a while to become comfortable with it in an unfamiliar car.

I use Cruise a lot and often swap from ACC to the normal system without issues. Both Porsche offerings are pretty good although don't like the brake applications with ACC - presumably the brake lights come on, which looks like lousy driving. Either way I couldn't buy a car without Cruise.

I'm keeping an eye out for a well specced 981 but one of my desireable items would be the electric seats (as well as the proper a/c controls). Very few cars have anything other than the manual sports seats. Even fewer have both.

Also am i right in saying that in order to have a car that does not have auto-blip capability (manual box) i need a pre 2013 - or can i get post 2013 minus sport chrono (which i don't think gives me much on a manual in any case)

Currently looking at 981 Cayman S' and my must-have list is:

PDK
Parking sensors
BOSE system
DAB Radio
PCM with nav module
Heated Seats

That is all. I'm a simple man hehe I have adaptive cruise on my current car and have never used it.

We have adaptive cruise on our two daily cars, I use it whenever I'm on the mway and sometimes on A roads. My Boxster has normal cruise and I use it whenever I'm on the mway. I don't find it confusing adapting between the different cars.

Fair play if you don't use it or like it but it's an absolute must have for me. First time I tried the adaptive criuse on my daily I swore like a trooper for the first 30 mins until I worked out what it was doing. It's a learning curve but well worth learning imo.

Sport Chrono on a 981 only blips in Sport Plus, not Sport, unlike on a 718 where if you have Sport Chrono it blips in both modes.

Why the electric seats? I have them on mine and they are totally superfluous, the manually adjustable sport seats plus are far superior. In fact every time I drive another Porsche with sport seats plus it reminds me how bad the 14 way electrical ones are frown

Don't get fussed about Bose - it is really really poor.

They do take forever to get anywhere so I can see your point. On the other hand if you and your OH are widely different sizes and you both drive the car regularly I can see a use. Also if you are short and often park in tight spaces then it helps to move the seat right back to make getting out easier - so they may be useful in that case.

If you want memory and the best seats then the 18 way sports plus are the answer. I have the standard sports plus which are great, and simply slide the seats as required when getting in/out of my tight garage.

I use it most days, too many ave speed camera's now so for me it's one of my top options.
set at 76 Mph on motorway and forget or in the 50's of which there are many, set at 54mph and over take most people.

BOSE is 10x better than SPP though, I like it.

just turn the base down 2 clicks and up the treble about 3 and it sounds pretty good, SPP is pretty st.

I love my sport plus seats! My wife and I are very different sizes so they're a boon in that regards. Plus I find the comfort access function quite useful (and quite cool!). I even like the look of the metal switches when I open the door ....

You might well find that your speedo is a bit optimistic, mine was (use a freestanding GPS to find out - or time between mile posts on the Motorway). I think the general rule is that you won't get prosecuted unless you are doing more than 70+10% +2mph = 79mph. If there are other factors such as poor visibility etc then I really wouldn't push your luck.
