GT3 MC, remap and hi flow filter. Will then concentrate on the suspension, get some RSS bits (depending on cost).

Are you planning on doing any intake/exhaust mods? If so it might be worth saving the remap for later.

Don't know yet. I'm going to see how I feel after these mods and then decide...

I installed the softronic map on my 987.1 S before i had the tb, plenum and carnewal exhaust fitted (i checked with them it was ok to do that). I asked to have the oem 'sport' setting permanently on as part of the map. To be honest the difference was very slight and after a week the effect had just normalised so the car felt no different. Once i then fitted the tb, plenum, exhaust it all made sense, well pleased. One thing i would recommend if you are taking it in stages is to try a sprint booster. I have always hated the throttle lag on my cayman s (touch accelerator and wait for carrier pigeon to deliver signal..) and fitted the sprint booster this weekend (£145 on ebay), wasn't expecting much but was amazed, far more noticeable effect than the map and a third cheaper, heel and toe much easier now!

There are home brew rear toe arms for very cheap on boxa.net I have a pair and changed the rod end for a higher spec item and came in a guess at less than £150 all in.

Why didn't you just push the throttle pedal harder instead of fitting a booster? All it does is electrically move full throttle to the 3/4 position in terms of the physical pedal movement itself. The last 1/4 of the range of movement at the pedal then does nothing. Even the literature shows this though it is obfuscated by the axis titles on their graph.

Did you specifically find the throttle pedal range of movement to be too long?

I dislike the way the throttle pedal responds to inputs, it's lazy and makes heel and toe less predictable. The booster is a tried and tested way of improving that. My understanding is it 'speeds up' the throttle pedal signal, I haven't read a bad review by a cayman owner whose tried one and at £145 it isn't going to break the bank if you don't like it.

I read on planet 9 some time ago that there is a 'feature' on the car where it doesn't allow you to brake and use the throttle at the same time, it may be worth doing some researches over there as I can't remember exactly how it works. Myself, I disabled the upper clutch switch for a month, i thought it does improve the shifting very slightly but the trade off wasn't worth it when measured against the slow throttle response when pulling away in 1st or reversing, got very irritating after a while so I put it back in.

Ok but that's part of the upper clutch switches function, it affects the ignition timing to smooth pulling away so you don't stall. It was very noticeable to me especially in traffic stopping and starting.

why do people do cheap and crap mods ?

we drive 60k cars and people are fitting st parts !

I am not giving advice because, we have guys fitting MC, sprint boosters, bushes for camber and EBC pads, remaps etc etc

It's like 17 year old kids modding Saxo's. I find it "embarrassing" !

You like to be NASA and have an expensive, zero-gravity biro. Others do it the Russian way and use a pencil.

Mr demon sometimes I think people on this forum are unduly harsh on you and you post things that make sense, other times like the above you let yourself down. When you say parts are crap, have you actually tried a sprint booster? By the way this is a mod recommended by many on planet 9 and it features in the excellent 101 things to do to your boxster book...

Sport mode gives me all the response I need from the throttle pedal.
I agree the throttle is a bit dead if one does not have the sports software, but if one does imo it's perfect.

Having another part in the line up just seems pointless.

Do you drive a R with sports mode ?

As some one else stated
"All it does is electrically move full throttle to the 3/4 position in terms of the physical pedal movement itself. The last 1/4 of the range of movement at the pedal then does nothing. Even the literature shows this though it is obfuscated by the axis titles on their graph.

You should have had a meeting with Andreas Preuninger and told him he has done the GT4 wrong and he could have saved a ton of cash with a drill, powerflex bush's and a K&N filter. And forget the large Disks and 6 pots, fit a MC and some EBC pads.
