GT4 or modded Cayman R

Sport mode gives me all the response I need from the throttle pedal.
I agree the throttle is a bit dead if one does not have the sports software, but if one does imo it's perfect.
Having another part in the line up just seems pointless.
Do you drive a R with sports mode ?
As some one else stated
"All it does is electrically move full throttle to the 3/4 position in terms of the physical pedal movement itself. The last 1/4 of the range of movement at the pedal then does nothing. Even the literature shows this though it is obfuscated by the axis titles on their graph.
Did you specifically find the throttle pedal range of movement to be too long?
Ok so I have driven my cayman stock, with softronic map which has the sports mode and with a booster and have based my comments on real experience. You obviously haven't tried the booster but feel you can say its crap?I agree the throttle is a bit dead if one does not have the sports software, but if one does imo it's perfect.

I can say imo I don't feel a need to fit some thing else in line once sports mode is on in my R.Have you driven a gen 2 car with sports mode ?

there are issues/side effects with pulling the tops of the wheels in over pushing the bottoms of the wheels out also.it's not about just getting -2 camber.
Also the side effects of pushing the wheels out at the bottom are good side effects, and last with top end parts you can then also correct caster etc.

Ok so you haven't answered my question so I will spell it out for you, how can you say a booster is crap unless you have tried it?
I have been fixing issues, the gen 1 has many which is what you drive no ?I have never been driving in my R and thought "I know, I need to fix throttle response" there are so many other things which I do think "mmm I wish it did this"
that my money goes on fixing down sides to the car.
I did not single out the sprint booster to be a crap part, I generalised as I feel a lot of people here want to mod on the cheap to mask issues and not fix them.
If you are happy with the Sprint booster then that's great, I don't feel an R with sports mode software is lacking in throttle response.
as an example on the gen 1 car I thought the flat spot was bad and deleting the rear cats along with sports mode, helps the car rev much easier/faster.
Have you deleted the rear cats on your car ? or are you masking the dead spot with a faster throttle response ?

only YOU and JP seem too :-)I still think the brake booster is the cure, 99.9 % of 987.2 owners want to fix the end point feel, you said you would not bring up MC again :-)
we know you want as little travel in the brake pedal as possible, but the gen 1 car does NOT have the issue that 987.2 cars have (poor mushy end point), and this is a thread on improving a Gen 2 car, in fact improving an R over buying a GT4.
If you want to start a 987.1 modding thread then do that imo as a lot of things just don't port over to the 987.2 cars having spent 5 to 8k modiing both gen 1 and gen 2 cars, it's interesting what the stronger and weaker points are in both.

why do people do cheap and crap mods ?
we drive 60k cars and people are fitting st parts !
I am not giving advice because, we have guys fitting MC, sprint boosters, bushes for camber and EBC pads, remaps etc etc
It's like 17 year old kids modding Saxo's. I find it "embarrassing" !
I find it embarrassing that some people are stupid enough to buy two versions of the same car but there you go!we drive 60k cars and people are fitting st parts !

Have you actually tried EBC pads? I'm guessing not and that you formed this opinion based on the price of the pad vs Pagids RS29? They're a big improvement over the std pads and I think that they're fine. The MC mod is a proven mod for improving brake feel. But I suppose having braided hose and Castrol SRF fluid is also a crappy and cheap mod!
Also Cmoose is modding a gen 1 cayman, hardly a £60k car, he should do whatever mods he thinks are worthwhile and be allowed to make up his own mind about what he believes constitutes a worthwhile change without worrying about whether some people on the Internet agree with him or not!
Your input into this thread is noted and valued as somebody who has actually modded their car and is happy with it but it's only your opinion, it's neither the only way to mod a car or the "correct" way. I may well find that after the MC has been changed that I also want the brake booster mod, that doesn't make the MC swap a st mod in its own right, it just means that I haven't quite got the feel I was looking for. Also, didn't you widen the holes in your CR to adjust the suspension for increased camber? I'm sure I saw the photo you posted on here some time ago, that would seem to be a much more chavvy mod than any of the things that you've highlighted in your post above as 17 year old saxo mods!!!
ETA - also did you say that you paid £80 for new discs for your CR? I doubt that these are either Porsche genuine parts or even OEM?

I find the sneering most distasteful and when posters start to respond in kind, no doubt the victim card will be rolled out soon after! Anyway, I'm away this week, pick up the car next Tuesday (7th April). Really looking forward to it!!!
Keen to hear how it feels when you get it back. How much is the MC mod costing BTW? You may have mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I don't have the stomach to trawl back and find the info :-)

Got the car back today. Here are my initial thoughts.
Noise: so Parr fitted a K&N filter as part of the upgrade. It sounds particularly fruity, not a huge difference but noticeable and pleasant. At full chat, it sounds magnificent, especially the H&T downchanges, which sound super sharp. So that's a definite plus.
Pace: the car seems to pick up quicker and subjectively at least feels faster, but to be honest I wouldn't say it was a night and day change but it is a marginal yet noticeable improvement.
Flat spot: so, 31MPH , WOT and, yep it's still there, it's nowhere near as bad but there's still some hesitation, still it's a marked improvement over where it was but I'll raise this with Parr tomorrow as they said the flat spot would go and I assumed they meant completely gone.
Brakes: most noticeable improvement of the lot, much, much firmer, great initial bite and feel, superb platform for H&T, very worthwhile mod - very happy. Pedal would probably be even better with a GT3 brake booster but I'm quite happy with it as it is, it's definitely made a massive difference and finally provides the feel I was hoping for. Bargain mod too!
So as an initial step, I'm quite happy. I'd say the mods have made some marginal improvements but it definitely feels better for them.
