GT3 MC, remap and hi flow filter. Will then concentrate on the suspension, get some RSS bits (depending on cost).

Are you planning on doing any intake/exhaust mods? If so it might be worth saving the remap for later.
Don't know yet. I'm going to see how I feel after these mods and then decide...

why do people do cheap and crap mods ?

we drive 60k cars and people are fitting st parts !

I am not giving advice because, we have guys fitting MC, sprint boosters, bushes for camber and EBC pads, remaps etc etc

It's like 17 year old kids modding Saxo's. I find it "embarrassing" !
I find it embarrassing that some people are stupid enough to buy two versions of the same car but there you go!

Have you actually tried EBC pads? I'm guessing not and that you formed this opinion based on the price of the pad vs Pagids RS29? They're a big improvement over the std pads and I think that they're fine. The MC mod is a proven mod for improving brake feel. But I suppose having braided hose and Castrol SRF fluid is also a crappy and cheap mod! rolleyes

Also Cmoose is modding a gen 1 cayman, hardly a £60k car, he should do whatever mods he thinks are worthwhile and be allowed to make up his own mind about what he believes constitutes a worthwhile change without worrying about whether some people on the Internet agree with him or not!

Your input into this thread is noted and valued as somebody who has actually modded their car and is happy with it but it's only your opinion, it's neither the only way to mod a car or the "correct" way. I may well find that after the MC has been changed that I also want the brake booster mod, that doesn't make the MC swap a st mod in its own right, it just means that I haven't quite got the feel I was looking for. Also, didn't you widen the holes in your CR to adjust the suspension for increased camber? I'm sure I saw the photo you posted on here some time ago, that would seem to be a much more chavvy mod than any of the things that you've highlighted in your post above as 17 year old saxo mods!!!

ETA - also did you say that you paid £80 for new discs for your CR? I doubt that these are either Porsche genuine parts or even OEM?

biglaugh I find the sneering most distasteful and when posters start to respond in kind, no doubt the victim card will be rolled out soon after! Anyway, I'm away this week, pick up the car next Tuesday (7th April). Really looking forward to it!!!

Keen to hear how it feels when you get it back.

How much is the MC mod costing BTW? You may have mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I don't have the stomach to trawl back and find the info :-)
Will let you know what I think of the mods next week. Part is £170 as CMoose said. All in cost with Castrol SRF refill is £400 including VAT.

Got the car back today. Here are my initial thoughts.

Noise: so Parr fitted a K&N filter as part of the upgrade. It sounds particularly fruity, not a huge difference but noticeable and pleasant. At full chat, it sounds magnificent, especially the H&T downchanges, which sound super sharp. So that's a definite plus.

Pace: the car seems to pick up quicker and subjectively at least feels faster, but to be honest I wouldn't say it was a night and day change but it is a marginal yet noticeable improvement.

Flat spot: so, 31MPH , WOT and, yep it's still there, it's nowhere near as bad but there's still some hesitation, still it's a marked improvement over where it was but I'll raise this with Parr tomorrow as they said the flat spot would go and I assumed they meant completely gone.

Brakes: most noticeable improvement of the lot, much, much firmer, great initial bite and feel, superb platform for H&T, very worthwhile mod - very happy. Pedal would probably be even better with a GT3 brake booster but I'm quite happy with it as it is, it's definitely made a massive difference and finally provides the feel I was hoping for. Bargain mod too!

So as an initial step, I'm quite happy. I'd say the mods have made some marginal improvements but it definitely feels better for them.

They just sorted it. It's nigh on perfect and when you do H&T the accompanying noise is wonderful cloud9
