Yep it's on the game. Just checked on my iPhone. Can't actually access anything at the moment but interestingly the only game company with an official Porsche license is EA and they built RR3, so good way of advertising the new car.NIgt3 said:
Dreamcar it did't take you long to realise he's a complete arssehole, just try to ignore him thats what everybody else seems to do!!
Well he clearly feels he has lost his argument on an open forum as he has clearly alienated many others here, so now he's sending me private messages via Pistonheads. I've not replied to his rather pointless message, as I am rather choosy who I reveal my email addresses to (I get enough junk mail without inviting more)! But I acknowledge receipt of his email here and will treat any further attempts to continue his childish dialogue here or with messages with the total contempt they deserve. Messages of course will be deleted unread. In fairness to all the other worthy contributors to this thread I trust he will not now detract from it any further.Edited by dreamcar on Tuesday 27th January 20:30

Every now and then I read something of his with interest, it may be inciteful, knowledgeable, or genuinely helpful and I think 'maybe he's not that bad?'...Then, (after saying he wasn't going to post until Feb) he decides to pick on you because of you've just joined, don't modify your cars and don't agree with every word he says?
The man (intentional or not) comes across as an utter tool and a spoilt brat of a teenager!
Most people on here are rather quite nice, helpful and appreciate thoughtful debate!
Best of luck with whatever you decide to do...
(I better delete my profile now in case he comes after me for not actually owning a Porsche!)

Thank you Jim1556. He really is no more than a minor irritation and I have no problem dealing with the likes of him. Between you and me I don't currently own a Porsche either, sold our Carrera S last April, but like many addicts was unable to kick the habit, and was only able to make peace with myself by choosing to order a Boxster GTS for delivery in a few weeks time. Sadly it is boringly unaltered from how Porsche designed it, with awful PASM suspension, slushmatic PDK gearbox and non-slick N rated tyres. I will do my best to not fall asleep whilst driving it. I'm currently discussing with the factory to see if they can design a Zimmer frame for me that will fit in the luggage compartment. Then, (after saying he wasn't going to post until Feb) he decides to pick on you because of you've just joined, don't modify your cars and don't agree with every word he says?

Back on the subject of this thread I did actually write a letter of intent to my dealer for a Cayman GT4, however the reality is it is likely to be too hard core for my wife and was so impressed with the GTS I cancelled my interest.

No! You're wrong! I don't agree with you!!! Anyway...
J-P, are you still modding your CR? Any interest in a GT4?
My GT3 fund isn't growing as fast as the buggers are going up, but by the sounds of it, (depending on which forum/magazine is closest) the GT4 maybe on my radar in a year or so...
ETA: Though they seem to have stabilised (I've no interest in a 991 GT3, I'm a manual man)...

If it's any comfort on Rennteam.com believe it or not several who have been fortunate enough to buy the latest GT3 have become bored with it quite quickly and moved them on - I know I find that amazing! Anyway...

However last spring my dealer lent me a 991 Carrera S for a few days and I felt the same. It is more GT than sports car and lacked the mechanical character of my 997/2. I was really pleased to get back behind the wheel of the 997. Completely different impression to what I feel every time I drive a 981, whichever one I drive they blow me away with their brilliance. It's still a proper sports car!

Just to put you all out of your misery, I have checked what the 12 pre-production vehicles have engine wise...
The answer is 3.8l with 385hp! Claimed top speed is 295kmh, gvw 1665kg with a unladen weight of 1415kg (not sure if that includes a driver, but probably not)
Thanks! The answer is 3.8l with 385hp! Claimed top speed is 295kmh, gvw 1665kg with a unladen weight of 1415kg (not sure if that includes a driver, but probably not)

GT3 3.8 was 435, so 50bhp tuned down. The answer is 3.8l with 385hp! Claimed top speed is 295kmh, gvw 1665kg with a unladen weight of 1415kg (not sure if that includes a driver, but probably not)
3.6 997GT3.1 was 415, 966GT3.2 was 381
Seems lardy

Still undecided on that one Jim. I've done a lot of research into modding the CR and think I can end up with something that is uniquely "me". I'm on the list for the GT4, the timing is rubbish for me but let's see what happens. Mrs threw a spanner in the works by suggesting a 991 GTS, so it's fair to say I don't know exactly what I'll do yet. Should be an interesting year, no matter what though!
I suppose it depends on what 'you' want, we all know you enjoyed your 997 GTS, I loved reading the thread that ended up over 100 pages (I think?)...Could you not go for the GT4 and if it's not up to 'your' expectations, then swap it for a 991 GTS? Going on the hype surrounding it at the moment (and lack of cars if certain people are to be believed), I can't see it losing much (if any), especially as you'll get one for the summer!

You're not much of an enthusiastic driver then, you should at least ripped out the suspension and put slicks on it - apparently?
You know nothing it's adjustable LCAs that make all the difference! dreamcar said:

Welcome to the PH Porsche forum. Worry not, you're in good company sir, he's done the same to me in the past, and my response mirrored yours precisely, I too chose not to respond to his ranting PM.I can only apologise for this individuals behaviour, you're not the first to have had to tolerate it, and regrettably I doubt you'll be the last.
There are a lot of very polite, well informed, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic individuals on here, so please don't let this individual deter you from posting on the forum, we need more like you around here ! The more people that stand up to this individuals unbecoming behaviour, the better.
