From what I have been told they are winding down GTS production from March through till September for GT4 build, it will be increased again in the autumn

I have letter of intent in, but have not been asked for a deposit.

Guys, do you think Cayman GTS prices / depreciation are going to be hit bad because of the GT4? Slightly concerned as I've got mine coming soon and a part of me thinks I should of waited for the GT4 but didn't want to commit because I didn't know price / final spec etc.
I think it's impossible to say until Porsche reveal the price and spec. If the GT4 is merely a GTS+ and placed close to it in price - then I expect it will hurt GTS values. If it's placed well above the "outgoing" GTS in both price and spec than it might even enhance the GTS second hand value (but if that is the case why discontinue the GTS). If, as some have speculated, the GT4 is PDK only, then I would certainly expect it to boost manual GTS prices.

But it's all speculation - and I wouldn't believe that the GTS is actually going to be discontinued as R1nur suggests until Porsche officially say so. If they were to do that surely many of those who were prepared to order a GTS for delivery towards the end of the year would cancel their order and wait for a GT4 instead.

Yes, this is the exact reason I cancelled my order and bought an R instead. I was ordering in a paint-to-sample and my invoice was £70k on the nose after discount with a delivery of "May, maybe June".

Then the GT4 rumours came along and suddenly "The GT4 won't be here till 2016 Sir, so don't worry about depreciation on your £70k GTS" soon became in my mind a £70k car delivered next Summer merely weeks before GT4's arrive.......

I have been told GT4 will have 3.8 400hp.

More than happy to hear about low gts production, will keep up gts value.

Not on this forum perhaps, but elsewhere - in autoexpress only a week ago, for example. I'd be absolutely astonished if it were manual only. I know many feel very strongly about a manual option, but the majority of actual buyers choose PDK. If the Porsche Approved list is anything to go by around 3 times as many 981 cayman buyers choose PDK over manual

But this is likely to be rather special & a lot of fun.

Chances are the GT4 will have no affect whatsoever on the depreciation curve of the GTS.........different car, different production numbers and different audience......yes

You can't take what's in the mags seriously. Car has been saying that the GT4 will be a twin turbo with 450bhp. I don't think anybody has ever really believed this other than Car.

I think it will be manual only. This will be Porsche responding to criticism of the GT3 being PDK-only. And they won't care about selling tons of them. Cayman doesn't sell by the bucket load anyway. It will be a car aimed at being fun, a car for driving pleasure and most of all a car for enthusiasts. It also means a point of differentiation to the GT3! I can almost hear AP now wink

All that we now know seems to confirm Stuart Gallagher's summary a month or so ago -- probable Geneva launch side by side with the GT3RS ??

Bang on, Geneva showing of Gt4 cayman alongside GT3RS. Cayman GT4 to be: 3.4 manual only, 385bhp, new induction system, 4.2 sec to 60, base price £65k, c/s option, the leaked black test car is"It" low production numbers. Announced 4th Feb when online configurator will go live. Deliveries July. New hot Boxster will be positioned between Gts and Gt4 outputs and not a la Spyder we all love due to perceived need for better roof.
Me personally underwhelmed having speculatively ordered this potentially dream car 6 years ago. Frustration has finally got the better of me and felt compelled to break cover. Anyone want to bid me for my no.1 OPC slot? Damn it I've waited this long I'll probably have it anyway!!

This is what salesmen do.

That is all.
