Nope, they stopped taking deposits on Thursday/Friday depending on which dealer. The car is already massively over subscribed.
I got asked to pay deposit on Saturday

Hi everyone

has anybody received any additional information today regarding build numbers and whether you have been allocated a car?

My OPC said the whole dealer network should get allocation / build numbers at the end of this month or start of March in time for Geneva.

I just stopped in at Porsche Mid-Sussex and asked about the GT4 - they weren't even interested in taking a deposit, and estimated they'd get around 10 cars (but had taken at least twice that number of LOIs already). Well done anyone who is getting one, but I suspect it'll be hard to resist the temptation to cash in!

I plan to keep mine, and track it at least 6 or 7 times a year. Cannot wait.

Booking flight to Geneva tomorrow to see it in the flesh.

My opc told me last week ,estimated 130-150 uk cars this year, same again next year, then when I was speccing it up at the weekend he said 124 cars,he may have said 134 I wasn't fullypaying attention at that point .
No idea about allocations ,he expected similar to their gt3 allocation ,and he confirmed I would be getting one ,but no idea when.

I'm forth on the list at My OPC apparently. So hopefully I'll get one.

Has anyone tried this?
I'm curious to know if it would work smile

If I really wanted one of these.... I mean REALLY wanted one from the get-go then I would have paid the deposit and then spec'd a VERY expensive car..... like every option ticked!!!

Then when the dealer principal goes through the orders he would have looked more favourably on my order than all the others with a lower spec....as obviously he stands to make more money from my order.

Then finally when I had been allocated a slot and in a couple of months I was asked to 'lock down' my spec then I would have got rid of all the options I didn't want.

Having never purchased a brand new car in my life I have no idea if the above would have worked but its what I would have done biggrin

My guess is the DP goes through the list of potential customers to call *before* they place a deposit and have a chance to spec. It's based on previous spend and who they fancy.

4th deposit or 4th LOI?

I was 6th/ 7th on the LOI list and still no one has called me from there...

I paid my deposit on the first day. I was the first Loi but got bumped down due to their preferred customers (understandable)

Called them today and I'm still 4th in line to get one but I don't have to do anything until they know allocation etc....

Ok, so you were bumped down by 3 people, which would probably mean I was bumped to 10th-ish, which you would expect would mean I'd still get a call?!

I did call them on the Wednesday morning (but the salesman was away) and was told he would call back... I'm still waiting.

Will call them at lunch to ask what happened!

Hello Boxsey yes spotted that. Car with no spec for 10k over list. Good luck with that!

So all this talk of OPC's not letting the cars go to speculators is probably bks.

Spec is irrelevant for Porsche priority. More concerned with money to be made on finance, gap insurance, tyre and wheel insurance etc etc.

that spec looks like it comes to £71485 so not much premium really. Makes you think why they would bother at such a small margin

£3500 profit on an investment of £5000 for less than 6 months might not be quite a Wonga rate of return, but it sure beats building society rates.
