I know the feeling. I've stopped using my local OPC so ordered the GT4 in June 2014 with another dealer further afield. Ultimately I had no confidence in this OPC supplying me with a car so, despite having the first LOI by some margin, I formally withdrew the LOI and placed an order elsewhere. I've been assured I will receive an early car unless cars are prioritised to 918 customers by PCGB. That's fine with me.
In my opinion, the LOIs don't matter and it's entirely down to the DP unless PCGB override him for a 918 customer. Some DPs are great whilst others suck; I've known both. At the end of the day it all comes down to relationship and trust. If there's little to no prior relationship, a person will be lucky to get a car in my opinion.
If this is an OPC north of leeds and south of Edinburgh then I can see your reasoning behind that. Wish I hadnt try to stick with my local dealer. lesson learntIn my opinion, the LOIs don't matter and it's entirely down to the DP unless PCGB override him for a 918 customer. It may be the case that to receive halo GT cars a non 918 profile customer has more chance of securing a build slot by becoming an 'OPC tart' rather than remaining loyal to their 'local'........
After being a customer for over 15 years, it's not a case of being loyal to the local OPC but never spending a penny with them again after the shocking way I was treated whilst they had my 'grounded' 991 GT3 by both the DP and his/her employer. They made false allegations and threats without checking their facts which resulted in them back-pedalling but stopping short of an absolute apology and without paying the legal costs I incurred. Notably this was after I started the Action Group. Consequently I was introduced to the DP at a non local dealer by the MD of PCGB. These are just the facts but without being specific so as not to breach forum rules. I have the DP's threats in writing as well as legal correspondence to support this if the moderator requires them.

Hi
I believe you’ve been exchanging messages with Steve Fowler. I’m looking into this for you and will talk with Porsche about the issue. As I think Steve mentioned we had a potential GT3 RS buyer get in touch just this week over a similar issue.
Perhaps you could advise other Porsche buyers on your forum to contact us at mail@autoexpress.co.uk if they’d like us to look into their case of losing out, too.
Regards,
Joe
