Modifying and driving
Discussion
Have moved from an Exige to a CR. Great car but if anyone can point me in the direction of a forum for discussing maintenance, modifications and technical issues I would appreciate it. The Lotus was great in that you could make it your own and the forums were all about changes you could make and different driving options. Porsche forums seem to be largely about specifications, values and which gearbox is better.
Perhaps the problem is that most newer cars have OPC warranties where reprogramming the radio invalidates the warranty. But come on guys, I am not bothered who thinks I should or should have not got one with A/c, but I am interested in who has found a better pads and disks for fast road use, upgraded the brake lines or tried different tyres. Perhaps I am in the wrong place or even bought the wrong car. Suggestions please.

Hi John. I have a Cayman R and I'm thinking about doing some mods. I've got braided hose, ebc yellow pads, GT3 brake ducts, Castrol SRF, however I haven't done the GT3 master cylinder. I think I need this to finally sort out the brakes.
Other than the brakes, Mod wise I'm thinking about lightweight flywheel, capristo exhaust and engine map, cup cables for the gear change and SVP do a great KW suspension update with full concerned weighting, although, I'm considering taking mine to center Gravity for the suspension. Get Chris to recommend and install the best system and then ask him to set it up precisely as I'd like it.

Have a look at the disc brakes Australia for upgrades, as these seem to be highly regarded, but established specialists like Autofarm and Tech9 should be able to give you advice on this, and stainless braided brake lines are always a good upgrade. Tyre choice can obviously have a big impact on the handling, and it depends on how far you want to go with this, and a really good Geo set-up on a hunter four wheel alignment system is always money well spent as part of regular maintenance.

www.theflat6.com is a new one, claims to be for the modding, vintage, classic P cars etc etc - I thnk it's quite new though by the looksPerhaps the problem is that most newer cars have OPC warranties where reprogramming the radio invalidates the warranty. Maybe this would be a good opportunity for you to get into that forum early on and make it into everything you feel Pistonheads is lacking with our boring threads about gearbox types and car values. I mean, who would be interested in that when you can talk about great modifications like braided brake hoses.

I have a number plate with one space in the wrong place. Have had it on the car for over 2 years with no issues. Today got home & there was a plain envelope in my letterbox with a local police compliment slip and a pamphlet on numberplates. I've had a good run and I'll change them for ones that are correct as the game, thrilling as it was, is now up and I'm not going down for this.
Yeah well, we don't all live life on the edge like you ! ! FWiW, you won't "go down" for having incorrectly spaced plates You won't even get points, merely a fixed penalty.
