Getting the best finish
Discussion
Don't know if this topic has been covered previously but I'm trying to gauge the latest on preferred wax/Polish for my pride and joy!
I have used Zaino for may years on my Boxster and thought I would give the car a good going over in the next few weeks,is their anything better out there at the moment?

I am no expert but I believe that it is more about the time and effort expended, not the product.I have used Zaino for may years on my Boxster and thought I would give the car a good going over in the next few weeks,is their anything better out there at the moment?
It all depends on how much effort you want to put in. For a really good finish I would get a snow foam lance, clean the car thoroughly usin the two bucket method and then clay bar the panels. You now have clean and smooth paintwork, and a good waxing with a polish that contains a high carnauba wax content will bring up the paint a treat.

I source all my stuff through PolishedBliss - excellent service and they'd be more than happy to recomend products based on your car colour and what your priorities are (e.g. durability, reflectivity etc.) ... I'm currently using Blackfire polish / sealant and very impressed with ease of application and finish...!
I used to waste a good proportion of my Saturdays cleaning and polishing with various products and 'potions'. You don't have to spend a lot of time or money though and I've simplified my approch so I have more time to do other things (such as driving).
I've gone back to a simple application of Autoglym Super Resin polish followed by a coat of Armorall Shield. This gives a very decent shine and the water beading properties of the Armorall lasts for many washes.
I used to use a variety of Meguiars multi-stage products but now just use their Gold Class Shampoo for washing in conjuction with the above when going for a polish.
Everyone develops their own favourite products and techniques and the options are truely endless.
Happy buffing.

The main thing is always going to be making sure that the paintwork is free of marring, swirls etc before you start putting protection of any description on.
Most cars will benefit from a machine polish to remove any marks, once you have a good finish on the paint just use whichever sealant/protector that you like to use.
Some of the sealants are worthwhile as they last for ages and mean you can spend less time and money maintaining the shine and more time enjoying the car.
