Agree with the anti whinging comments........come on chaps get over it.....its only a Gayman after all. Why not move on to the next shiny bauble....the Coxster Syder which should be equally as desirable......biggrin:

Can't believe you actually found that post funny, it's not original and so predictable . I'd rather read about the rip-off dealers...
Very original and unpredictable post....IMO....of course.....hehe

Sense of humour bypass....maybe.....biggrin:

Agree it's just a car, am now going down the lotus route been looking into them more and since selling my gt3 they have become a lot more interesting and think for me personally not getting a gt4 has been a good thing, and maybe will see some of you in gt4s on track days and sure we will all have a good time smile

Just check lead time and premium for the rhd , sound like they are pulling from the same pie as UK bound cars, ie not sure it's -1lhd +1 rhd. Also heard RHD can be a 7000 eur premium depending on dealer.

illegal to charge premium for RHD version one dealer pulled that one but then retracted. biggest risk is currency fluctuation over next 9 to 12 months. Ireland only have allocation of 1 car and Vehicle Registration Tax reclaim is not clear and it approx 30% of selling price

I am trying to do something about it, as well as whinging as you call it. I have written to a lot of the trade press, who actually do seem interested, two of which have asked Porsche for more info. I have written to the CEO of Porsche and VW, and Chairman, had some replies, all in the hope of trying to raise the profile of the UK under allocation. If this helps get 50 more cars and some guys on here get some, then i am sure you will agree the 'whinging' has been worth it.
Or, unfollow the threads and save yourself.
Jeez you really want one of these cars, if I give you mine will you shut up, stop whinging and get over it?

I think the reality is that we have all been through a huge recession over the last 10years and memories are really short term! Boom and bust is the way of the world in what is what appears to be a 20yr cycle.

The GT allocation is what it is and is, and largely what it has always been in the long term. The recent recession has distorted the availability of GT cars over the last few years, thus GT cars have been somewhat more available for us mere mortals than they really would be in a stable world order!

Suddenly the economy in the UK looks rosy and people look back with emerald eyes on the benefits bestowed to those lucky enough to have secured a 991GT3 in the last 18mths and they want a piece of the action! The profiteering of GT3 slots and resale is fueling in the UK/USA what has very quickly revealed itself as the very corrupt and rather ugly side of capitalism (don't worry I am as right wing as they get). The situation in the rest of Europe is not the same at all largely due to the EURO, and thus an apparent disparity has revealed itself. I think that PAG (perhaps being at the very heart of the EURO) along with the German Gov has misjudged the situation especially the recent Greek election somewhat, but who could have really foreseen this turn of events?

I question the motives of a few of the posters on here. Let's imagine a scenario where the supply/economy/whatever was in a different place and time, and you were faced with almost certain depreciation on the purchase of your GT4 despite how good it might be to drive! How many of you would still want a GT4 so badly that you would be willing to email the CEO of PAG worldwide! confused If you could not / would not imagine such a situation then quite frankly you are not the GT customer PAG are aiming for right now. Don't cry expecting any mercy from them!

I am just saying that the world is different place to where it has been over the last few years, and in fact we all need to accept that Porsche is once again finding its feet again in the world of order of "the elite". Some of us mortals have touched this space over the last dip cycle, but make no mistake we do not belong here. We are championship players in a premiership world, and as distasteful as it is to swallow this, it is a fact! Suck it up boys and girls and embrace it for what it is and enjoy the good times for what they were whilst they lasted. The genuine elite are back in town and they have multiplied and we are not amongst them. Some of us just "are" and some of us just "are not" - it is Darwinian!

Signing off, after a few vino's on a Friday evening. drunk

Pop round mate, I have a little left which is going to spare! It was a fine Spanish red, topped off with a few rather fine aperitifs!

I will happily take you out for "a spin" in the V12V and you can return the favour in the Exige S beer

Key point you make there if being faced with certain depreciation if the GT4 was in plentiful supply - there would certainly be some people taking a different view! Very impressive how much hype there is associated with the GT4, it's certainly going to be a very special toy for those lucky enough to get one..... Keeping my fingers crossed I get lucky!

its deep but not totally accurate I feel. I bought a 997 gt3 in 2007 new without much hassle, so have many of the people getting bumped. We are simply busy people who do not schmooze car dealers and flip cars as a side business. A 991 gt3, as people have mentioned was obtainable for a while also as te order book ran - before it was seen as free money.

The gt4 is simply to cheap and with the premium on the 991 gt3 just ludicrous right now, and little supply of either no wonder there is a riot, it reminds me of those scenes in Walmart on Black Friday. Throw banknotes to a crowd, get your free motoring here

Everyone has done their man maths and figured out you can now get paid to own a semi exotic instead of that amg or m car, why wouldn't you want a gt4. Just look at how much discussion there was in the foums about keeping the options below 70k, on a frigging gt car?!

It should have been priced at 80k. The 991 gt3 at 120k. Build to order. Problems solved.

Anyway as mentioned if you really want a track car, then there are options away.

Q to NewexigeS, am looking into a Exige v6 cup, why are you so keen to get out of the Exige into a gt4?

I have an an interesting situation with regard to this on which I would like to take legal advice. I am quite willing to pay for this in the usual way. If you are a contract lawyer with an interest in what has happened here, please pm me in order that we might speak.
Oh come on...not another one!
Ha ha. This is amazing! Legal advice!!! You sir have made my day.

For your own health, go worry about more important matters then a car.

I was 5th on the list. After my opc giving me a bit of a run around, the dp has assured me I'll get the next 1.
Possibly this year if more appear, most likely next.
We'll see!!

A good post, I think you have probably hit the nail on the head.
Exige V6 is simply incredible on track, the 430bhp upgrade makes it faster on most tracks than GTRs and any GT3. I have had it for 18 months and fancy a change, it also does not get me to and from the track in much comfort at all, the trip to the Ring and Spa for example is tedious. Just fancy something that can be mighty on track, and then need need ear plugs to drive home. Happy to meet up and let you have a go if you wish, I live in Herts.
