They sold out the full two year run of UK GT4s before the car was launched, they cannot even supply cars to people who had a LOI in pre launch. So, sorry chap, you are 18 months and about 5 previous Porsche purchases in the last 4 years, too late.

Decided I don't need 50kg of metal in it. It's a road car which can do a track day :-)
I think you will find that a rear cage section is around 20 - 30KG and if you do ever find yourself in the unfortunate position of being upside down in your car, you will be very glad of it. Either way, the second hand market for the GT4 will be similar to the GT3 (996/7) market which definately pizes the Clubsport spec cars over anything else. Even cars that are specced with everything but the cage, are not as sought after. I dont know why, they just are.

Something to bear in mind

US 918 Spyder VIPs have their allocations at this point. Looks like they're getting May builds for July deliveries. We're only now starting to hear of buyers aside from the 918 Spyder VIPs getting orders submitted, with August deliveries. We're also hearing that global allocations might be getting rejiggered a bit -- interest in the US is very strong, but not to where 2 years of production had deposits in 72 hours. We're hearing some UK dealers have gotten a few (literally, a few) more allocations to help deal with the demand over there.

In truth the car never actually went on sale in the UK, the dealer network here does not have enough cars to satisfy half of the people who had a pre launch LOI, let alone once the 918 royalty arrived post launch.
On the day of launch UK Porsche dealers were rejecting would be depositors and enquires within hours, the true level of demand for the car is probably and unknown.

Our dealer in the US here gets initial allocations on Saturday, with more coming as the months roll on.

As Goofnik said, sounds like our allocations are being moved around and if you don't get one this weekend, you might get one soon.

Just in case anyone on here isn't reading the thread in the general forum, sapphire blue, carmine red and the arctic white are no longer available as colors, and if you specced either the club sport package or buckets there is a 2 month delay (regardless of your allocated build date).

Politics or supply issues ?

Certainly Porsche were surprised by the success of the GT4.

But only because they wouldn't really believe what 964RS and 993RS drivers were telling them.

Small is beautiful on track ...

Either way, who will not wait ?

In the US at least, there's another allocation happening in 3 months. Dealer tells me the allocation will be higher next time around (my dealer only got 4 cars, and it's the biggest OPC on the west coast...).

I'm getting one and its only my second ever Porsche. I think part exchanging my highly specified 12 month old Cayman S is the reason I've been given an allocation. LOI sent in December, £5K paid at 9am on Feb 4th.

Just Luck. I was going to trade my Aug 14 GTS and I put in a LoI at the time of purchasing my GTS.

The first GT4's are appearing for sale in Switzerland. One is near me so I'm popping in to have a look as I couldn't get close in Geneva. They are not so popular here and these 2 are selling just below list (delivery miles only). I tried to post a link but it's not working but you can go to autoscout24.ch and look if you wish. For interest prices are 72kGBP and 78kGBP.
