Anyone had the dash reprogramming done 'to prevent spurious messages being recorded'? Seems like a minor thing to me but OPC want the car 'as soon as possible' and will need it for a day!
What on earth takes that long to re programme. You can reinstall windows in less than an hour.......
Or - puts on foil helmet - is there more to it........

Had mine done yesterday and was told it would take about an hour.
Two minutes later and they told me the known issue of sticking brake pedal was present and they would fix both at the same time. Took about 2 hours
Wow, you got off lightly with the brake thing. I think I was one of the first to have that problem and they had my car for a month!! I haven't heard anything about this recall though so I'll wait and see - is it all 981's does anyone know? Two minutes later and they told me the known issue of sticking brake pedal was present and they would fix both at the same time. Had the recall done last week - was told it would take an hour but I had to leave my car for the day anyway so not sure how long it actually took. I mentioned when I dropped off the car that the brakes felt 'sticky' when warm (didn't know others had experienced this problem) - was told it was a known problem with the "bush material" and they would replace them with new spec bushes ... problem solved
Had the brake bush thing done last February. Driving in the winter with the heater on full to the footwell actually caused my brakes to remain on so much that I could not drive it! Dash lit up like a Christmas tree with all sorts of failures - Blower on to cold for a few minutes and all was well.
As I have to travel over an hour to OPC, I would rather it were a ten minute fix........ or one that could be put off for a while - but they insist it must be done ASAP. Just seems strange for a potential spurious service warning........

Had mine picked up by Porsche recovery, because the oil level gauge was not working. At first the AA man came round, and when he phoned his base and said I wanted it recovered they refused. I told them that I was not going to drive it 40 miles to the opc in Chester without knowing what the oil level was ! A local recovery firm took it to the opc and the AA brought it back. It was a fault connected to the recall..
I'm not sure that the dash problem was ever the subject of a recall; the OPC did mine on its last major service so I imagine that the fact that yours was or was not done should be recorded in the service history.
By the way, reading this thread was the first I knew that the footbrake bush thing was not uncommon. Mine suffered the problem about a month ago - initially I thought that the vile electronic handbrake had stuck on - called the OPC on getting home and "because it was a brake problem" they collected the car via Porsche Assistance and left me with a courtesy car. Problem sorted and car returned the next day.

The sticking brake pedal was so bad for me that I had to call Porsche Assistance and get a flatbed out for a 981 Cayman last year. Two minutes later and they told me the known issue of sticking brake pedal was present and they would fix both at the same time. Took about 2 hours
They applied an update whilst sorting, which 'caused the smaller dashboard screen to sometimes not come on' or something similar.
They also had to replace the petrol cap locking mechanism as that broke as well.
All common faults with the earlier 981's apparently - I got unlucky with all of them it seems.

Just called porsche to ask about sticking brake pedal recall and they said there is nothing showing on their system. They applied an update whilst sorting, which 'caused the smaller dashboard screen to sometimes not come on' or something similar.

I think they are hedging their bets with this one? Mine was done last month - replace pedal box bushes - as the brakes were stuck on, making the car stop without any pedal pressure from me! OPC knew straight away what the issue was, so definitely not their first instance?
I assumed it was a 19 year old boy with no clue but whatever the computer told him.Mine is doing this today. Footwell heating on at full blast - brakes are staying on and the pedal almost needs lifting back up - or does not return to full height.
I will call the OPC tomorrow and get them to collect the car I think - I will post back with what I find/what the OPC does.
