986 but I bought another exhaust, sent it out for mod, had it sent back then fitted locally. Old one off and resold smile

This is what I'm now looking to do, anybody know of a 996 3.4 exhaust?

Just call or email him and ask for a price for that. Just make sure you don't buy a knackered exhaust. I got a 50k mile one which I could inspect from a 2003 car whereas mine had 105k on it. I polished it up before fitting.

I was thinking of having something similar done to my 996 C4S.

Will the car pass the MOT back in Blighty, and does the PSE switch still work?

Yes, but Gert really knows his stuff. Check out his facebook page for work he's done, including this onewink

He fitted my exhaust for free, was actually cheaper to go there (well with the Tesco Eurotunnel vouchers) than to get it shipped and fitted here.
So like mine - stunning.

It's not a switchable exhaust. Switchable options (including PSE of course) are very expensive. Don't see any issues with MOT, it's not a decat or anything.

My car already has the PSE, I am not keen to lose that facility. Apart from anything else, the neighbours won't like it.

Obviously it's not worth getting if you have a working PSE. But if they were siezed and cracked like mine then it's a much more cost effective solution compared to a replacement PSE.

As I mentioned earlier, it's not loud under small throttle. You shouldn't be booting it from cold anyway so it wouldn't annoy the neighbours.

PSE on at any revs is going to disturb MY neighbours, cold or not. Plainly I'm not going to start her up and scream off at maximum rpm.

I got the before and after emissions results for mine and they were no different.

rObArtes & Yidwann

did you both complete the trip? how was it?

looking for advice on what route to take and also what to do whilst you're there, or did you just wait around?

any itineraries, accommodation ideas, activities, places of interest, etc. welcomed.
