yes, i had the Carnewal GT fitted at Easter. I stayed in Ghent, which is about 30 mins away from Carnewal, via the N60 dual carriage way. its straight forward to get there, you just need to look out for his shop, as the sign is small. Gert and his wife are very nice and accommodating. I just waited, as it only took around 1 ½ to fit. the thing i should have done was take the twin tips i wanted fitting but did not have them in time.

very pleased with the results !

You can stay at Gerts place if you are planning the trip, he has his own guest house as part of the site. It was a very nice place when i was there although i didn't use the accommodation myself.

Yep, all done, bloody love it, its amazing! I buckled and bought the Cayman R tips too, don't regret it! smile

My GF's mum lives in Brussels, so we stayed there and went over on the way back, in all honesty though you could do it in the day if you want, as I was with the GF I didn't think she'd want to hang around in the garage the whole time, so we just went for a walk around the local woods, which took about an hour and a bit, by the time I got back it was all ready to roll.

I think a little bit of everything to be honest Moose. I have summed it up as, when I am driving it now, it feels a bit more proper, and I feel like I am in the first version of Getaway in Stockholm.... just how it makes me feel!

Essentially, it has quite a bit more rumble and bark on idle, no real droning when cruising between 2-3k on the Motorway, and when you open the taps or go under a tunnel... it sounds amazing.

I went to see Gert at Easter last year and had our gen 1 Cayman S fitted with his GT exhaust, which is great up to a point. However, we have since acquired another gen 1 Cayman S in addition to our original car and I have to say that it's really nice to drive the standard car sometimes. Aside from the noise, the modified exhaust adds a slight roughness to the feel of the engine/drivetrain which is really apparent jumping from one car to the other. I'd guess this is probably the same with all modified/aftermarket exhausts.

In an ideal world I'd go for the switchable Porsche Sports Exhaust and have the best of both worlds.

His website is quoting about £1300 for the switchable PSE. Not sure how much to do that at an OPC, assuming a lot more. makes it a bit more tempting but still it's a lot of money for arguably the same sound but just the option to go quiet? Debating between the two.

With all this chat of Carnewal thought I'd post my little vid of my NVR 993 with one of his exhausts on, cost the princely sum of €400 two years ago biggrin Nice and loud, but not offensive to passers by, passes noise tests at Bedford so will pretty much anywhere. Lovely overrun sound completely off throttle, can make it burble overrunning on a very light throttle/at low speed, pops/bangs at will when changing gear. Completely makes the car IMO, best value for money modification I've made on any car I've owned:

It sounds a bit deeper and gruffer now, only seems to be improving with age.

Without fawning too much, I've probably bought £4k's worth of kit of Gert in the last few years, he's great value and the first place I look if I need/want something.

I'm off to Gert this weekend. Got a cheap deal on Eurotunnel £30 out on the Sunday morning, £40 back on the Monday.

Its my birthday so Bruge on Sunday, Carnewal Monday.

I have booked at the hotel Navarra £114. (in a rush, was at work).

What are the best places to visit in Bruge on a Sunday. Looking for local ambience, delicacies and food, lol.

B Taste is an interesting place to go, quite pricey but hundreds of beers to try and you can have as much as you want, the beer tap just counts down your credit until you let go smile
A beer on the square is nice for the view, but again pricey. Go for one for the ambience then move on.
Bistro de Pompe just of Market Square was our best meal in Bruges, excellent service and simple but very tasty food.
In terms of regular pubs De Garre is worth a visit, also near Market Square
