carnewal is about the cheapest esp with the euro atm, but again without engine mounts holding the tranny where is should be just seems daft to do 1/2 a job.

Sorry chaps are you suggesting that the cables at carnewal are numeric cables because that's what ive been talking about? I cant see carnewal listed as a dealer on the numeric site. These are the same cables that svp sell branded as 'tarret' who are a dealer for numeric and svp sell them for £475.

In fairness the gearshift feel/quality is a bit wooly and vague with a knackered front engine mount. When I replaced the tired mount with a standard new one the improved accuracy and better feel from the stick was quite noticeable.
funny i never noticed any difference at all and my front engine mount was completely worn through the centre before i changed it, biggest difference was by far the tran mounts but they are semi solid on mine.anonymous said:

Ive got a great idea, why don't we cut n paste each others responses into replies and argue about it over 14 more pages, me who has done the mods but is clueless and you who hasn't but knows everything. I've tried to make some contribution to the thread to help others but it seems to always end up with the same pointless petty crap sniping/snobbery/arguments. Cant be bothered to contribute anymore.anonymous said:

Parr recommended this to me as well and said that they think it will make a noticeable difference, so there's definitely something in it, Moose. Having said that, the cables do make a difference too. Perhaps both mods would make for a very nice change indeed! (Pun intended).PR36 said:

ignore cmoose he seems have no clue what so ever on anything I am finding, not even sure why is he on a R thread, he got told to ps off the last one.Every thread is now a barrage of bullst, and Cmoose has to have the last word, it's ruining the forum, he prob does not have a single mod on his car either.

I read from a distance the poking and comments and general one up manship. It's not for me but if there's something useful to share or to be learnt I'm game. Like you I've modded my car. A lot of these mods being done now and to R's are not new as you know. In fact it's often the same parts for 986/996/987/997. People could do well to look to what mods are done outside of the R. You can carry your previous experience forward which always helps. The amount of modding experience on this PH Porsche section is minuscule compared to other forums. I don't think the way the forum is set up is very conducive to tuning and mods in general. Every thread is now a barrage of bullst, and Cmoose has to have the last word, it's ruining the forum, he prob does not have a single mod on his car either.
