I am in conversation with my indy about geo at the moment and have been warned against listening to too much on the internet about 'all you need to do is max the camber', the reason being there are many other variables to take into account and set up needs can be different between different drivers even if they use the car for the same purpose. Funnily enough I am being steered toward 'just' -1 degree up front as being more than sufficient for a fast road occasional track day user.
People say max it out because -1 is all you can get on stock parts/ holes. I would not listen to too many Indys :-) ,
One Indy on here did a geo without adjusting the top slots and did not even know they were there.

Mine is in at Paragon today for its geo and a couple of warranty fixes.
They did raise their eyebrows at me when I mentioned -1.5 and their response was likely to be closer to -1 even moving the mounts. I'm not going to get too excited about numbers, they know what I'm after and said they'd set the car up accordingly.

No buckets and wrong alloys. This looks better with buckets, spyder wheels, ceramics and manual.
Is the Spyder really selling for more than the R?

How can it have air con delete but no buckets? And where are the spider wheels, weren't they standard fitment on the r?PR36 said:

Absolutely no idea why anyone would chose the normal seats over the buckets. Or any other wheels over the Spyder Wheels.Unless they did spec them, replaced them for some normal seats/wheels and had thousands of pounds back in their pocket.
I'd never buy one without the buckets or spyder wheels though.

While I agree, I suspect the reason for the seats may be size related.... one of my friend couldn't fit in the buckets in my car. Which was slightly embarrassing. Sorry you can't get a lift, your @rse is too big isn't something I've had to say in my Mondeo! Talking about the seats...
I was driving the R for about 4.5 hours the other day and when I got home I really struggled to get out of the car and have had back pains since. I don't remember previous Caymans being this uncomfortable, my Sport Edition had the buckets and I drove that to the 'ring/Spa with no issues. Maybe I'm getting old but I can't see me keeping this car long if it's like this on longer journeys.

You got issues with your back in that case, Ive driven my car for several 2-3 hour drives and never had a problem. Im only 30 though.
That being said, for touring duty Im sure there are better cars out there than the Cayman R. Its got buckets and a passive sports suspension after all.
Way better than a 996 GT3 or GT2 though, more supple.
The sports suspension in the Cayman R is spot on for road driving in my opinion, I wouldn't have it any stiffer, but the road comfort is perfectly fine. In fact, my dads Audi TT S-line is more jittery!

I'm 6' 4" and about 220 lbs. I've had back problems for years and tend to recline my seat in cars, in part to get headroom, but mostly to allow me to slouch and keep the pressure off my lower back.
2 years ago I fitted a lowered fixed bucket seat to my 964 and had to adapt. No excuses to keeping good posture. The R bucket seats do the same thing to me. I get a twinge moving from the Cayenne to the Cayman while my back adjusts to the improved posture, but ultimately I think it's a better posture for me.
For those that don't fit into buckets there is an easy solution, swap them for sports seats. It probably won't cost you a cent

Cheers all.
I think my office chair is partly to blame for bad posture/general back pain so I need to look at that, I'm 37 so hopefully this isn't the beginning of a long term bad back!
The reason I mentioned it here is that my R and GT2 both have sports seats and I can drive the GT2 for the same period and have no back pain at all, was just wondering if other R owners were suffering, but it seems not.

I've finally found some side bolster protectors, ordered them and will post up when they arrive to feedback on quality (I suspect they are not genuine Recaro)

Come in red too.

They look decent. I have similar on another car.http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=...

Although, I'm wondering how the front fits to the seat? The rear section loops under the seat belt hole. But what does the front bit do?
