Agreed.

It's customary to show us your R here, let's see her!

Adding front wheels spacers and a bit more front camber has been a mod undertaken by some (me included), I wonder if Porsche view this as a breach of the terms of the warranty even if you were using Porsche supplied wheel spacers...
Well if you insist! biggrin

When I picked her up fro Porsche Glasgow

And with a playmate (Cayman S Design Edition) on a recent Scotland roadtrip.

I may ask the OPC about the spacers and warranty sometime when I'm in but I have a feeling that it won't be allowed.

What difference have you noticed with the mod and how big a difference? Any effect on tyre wear?

Front Spacers will not affect a warranty claim as you take them off if the cars blows up !
Don't tell your OPC you are going to fit them !!!

the effect is a wider front track which helps turn in, gives it 981 ammounts of front track.

great mod. tyre wear is not affected, you get more tyre issue running oem set up due to no camber on the car even for road use
I run -1.2 and the outters are still wearing more than the inners.

Ok, I`ll put this as nicely as I can. Cmoose, can you please stop ruining yet another thread.
This is a thread for the Cayman R, if you want to wax lyrically about the S - make a Cayman S /Owners/buyers/mods thread. PLEASE.

Right. Just got back from Dusseldorf. Jens Ehresmann is a lovely guy, the type of bloke you would love to grab a pint with. Made me really feel at home and took me around for cars and coffee dusseldorf, ( was a spyder there) , took me the MTO rolling road with the Maha dyno his workshop etc. The car aint done yet but heres a temporary summation:

Cold hard numbers : Dynoed the car prior to mods. 315.8 bhp. The Maha dyno is very conservative. Very few of the newer car puts out what they promise. 991 4S around 390, 991 GTS around 415-420.

Some pictures of the old system and the new.

Desnork V-flow.

997.2 GT3 control arms

around -2 camber

Just a run with all the hardware installed without any mapping, and its running way too rich. Costing some power for sure.
Still, just with the hardware we are up at 350 BHP even while running quite rich. Almost 50 NM up from 2500-4000 just from the hardware. I think almost 400 NM on top.

From what I could gather, they dont just use say a 991 carrera map - these guys are dealing on proper automotive level - They are picking different bits from different maps.

I`ll let Jens do the explaining if you are seriously interested.

+35 BHP and all that torque just from the hardware, well chuffed! And still alot to come!

I did say , the car will be too loud lol

I cannot track mine at Bedford even with oem rear section 200cell cats and flaps closed.

you can make these cars amazing though for little outlay.

Hi All,

I picked up my CR last Friday. One question regarding tyres. The car has the original (?) Eagle F1's , are the MPSS the way to go for road use and the odd track day ? I want to be able to drive in the wet......

Excellent result. Do you have a rough estimate what you'll have to pay for these mods?

A fettled CR is about as desirable as a GT4 to me at this point. Similar power to weight ratio, hydraulic steering, smaller dimensions, no over the top wings and most importantly no delivery delay bks.

I run PSS they are the best road tyre imo, non N spec though, if that's an issue for you.

I don't suppose you have a pic looking along the side of the car before and after, do you? I'm just curious how noticeable the change is visually. And is it just the fronts that get spacers or both ends? I'd have assumed both but wondered as you just mentioned the fronts.

The results arent in yet, this is just what physically swapping out the hardware yields. the mixture is way too rich costing power. Now the real work begins with the mapping.

As for pricing, I suggest you contact Jens Ehresmann. Im having some other stuff done as well, so it Depends what you want, but you wont get it any cheaper anywhere else. He has got good connections.

As I said, these guys are operating on automotive level, they arent simply tuners. They got alot of development stuff which Im not at liberty to disclose I think.

I have to say that the improvement in the SHAPE of the torque curve, even more than the peak torque or horsepowe figures is extremely impressive. Any idea how much of the improvement in shape is down to the desnork and remap and how much to the exhaust?

Pity about the noise though - and I'm tempted to think that will make it a non-starter for most. Hardly surprizing though - there is precious little that looks like a silencer in the system.

There is no new MAP, thats just hardware. They havent even started yet. Its running very rich, big black smokes of soot when you put the pedal down, so its down on power for now... still a massive gain though.

People who say the orginal Manifolds and exhaust + cats arent restrictive arent half talking some bks!
huge gains.

Sorry misread your post. Pity - I can't imagine the desnork does THAT much.

I just did the Vflow and manafolds, the improvement in midrange is mega.
and on a plus note I kept the rear exhaust section with the flaps so it can be quite as long as you don't WOT then the flaps open on there own.

I lost BHP keeping the rear section to what it could be but est >350bhp but bigger torque gains midrange over 300lb/ft.

cars a second quicker than it was stock in a 3rd gear pull from 30mph to redline.

The power is in the exhaust and manifolds imo. Its a proper Cup exhaust, so its serious stuff! 20% bigger tubes and better bends.
