What does the 'sport' button add to a manual 'R'? Some manuals seem to have Sports Chrono, some just a 'sport' button, and others neither. Thanks

'Sharpens throttle response' - basically you don't have to push the pedal as far for the same revs so to speak and loosens off the ESP a bit. Still there but just a little less aggressive in cutting in. That's about all I'm aware of. I use it on hoons though I don't think it makes much difference.

Also removes the power falloff just before redline and gives you full throttle into the hard rev-limiter.

I feel the non Sports crono cars feel a bit dead in the pedal for me plus PSM cuts in way to soon in non sports mode.

I have it in both my cars and drive with it on 100% of the time. I had to have it retro fitted in one as I would not want a car without it.

Did you compare them with these http://www.carscovers.co.uk/porsche-cayman-car-cov... ? Even the top of the range one is cheaper, but sounds very good - either of the top two versions sound quite good actually.[
Firstly, the original OEM Porsche covers do have flaws, namely a weak zip and cheap plastic buckle that can break if stepped upon, however they do have a good protection record, a good fit and the whole thing folds back into a bag which is part of its construction...

I agree that in 'normal' mode it feels a bit lazy - I'm not sure how Sport off compares to the standard map in a non-chrono car but I think I'd always have it now given the choice.

On a different note, anyone else had issues with the tailgate rattling? This is the 4th Cayman I've owned and not had a problem with it before, the last few drives the noise has been really loud, whilst closed you can wobble the lid and hear it rattling. Is there a simple fix for this?

More manuals than PDK for sale - for God's sake don't tell MrD or his head will explode. OF course, all the PDK cars will have been for sale for ages and the manual ones will only be around for hours until they are snapped up by those in the know.

Yes, mine does, very very annoying. Keeps making my ears pop.

It's with the dealer now, to try and sort out for the second time.

My goodness no... Manual cars are handed down from father to son only via a sacrificial rite involving goats, badgers and probably Curly Wurley's....

Be gone with your heathen words - we won't be convinced by this mysterious evidence of which you speak......

They're also not all still for sale. I bought one of the manuals 2 weeks ago within an hour of it coming up for sale having missed out on another by being 2 hours too late! Dealer hasn't removed it from his site yet. Loving it btw😃

The original Porsche covers have a steel cable with circular shaped ends that need to be placed in the bonnet, this prevents the cover from being stolen...
