Morning all - Hope someone can help with this query.

We've recently discovered an interesting glitch with Dad's 2001 Boxster S. We appear to have lost use of the headlights when rotating the switch to the far rightmost position as usual (bulbs appear fine). Just the side-lights will work.

In order to get the headlights on, I have to switch the light dial all the way to headlights and off again, whilst pushing the left stalk towards me or away to activate high beam/flash. It takes a couple of attempts, but the headlights will eventually activate. When they do though, you cannot flash/use the high beams as this turns this will put you back to sidelights.

I should clarify all other lights are working fine, just the headlights are playing up.

Bit of an odd one really. If anyone has had the same (or similar) I'd be grateful to hear any possible solutions.

Cheers

Did a little research and think it could be that too. Hopefully it should be quite straight forward to do (at least it appears so in this guide)

Thanks chaps thumbup

Phillip, buy him the Boxster 101 book, it is full of useful stuff for Boxster owners & this is one of them.

Had this on mine and it was the ignition switch - I think you have to manually turn the ignition switch back one click from the full right turn

Spring in the ignition switch has failed and will need replacing is my guess sir
