I love reading about cars with extremely high mileage. Especially when they are still going strong and being used properly.

So who's got a reasonably high mileage Cayman or Boxster and doesn't mind sharing the numbers?

To keep a bit of structure let's stick to the layout below. Let's see who has them most impressive numbers.....
(Copy and paste the below and fill in your data)

Model: (E.g. Cayman S)
Engine: (E.g 3.4 DFI)
Model Year: (E.g. 2012)
Mileage when you I got it: (E.g. 22000 miles)
Mileage now: (E.g. 35000 miles)

I'm really interested to see what the highest mileage anyone has got out of the DFI engine is!

Model: Cayman S
Engine: 3.4 DFI
Model Year: 2010
Mileage when you I got it: 12,500
Mileage now: 28,000

It has got faster since I bought it. At this rate, it will be a Turbo S by the time I sell it.

Gen2/981 S owners clearly don't drive their cars as much as they should! wink

TBH, you'd probably have had more interest in the thread if you had opened it up for gen1 cars and 2.7/2.9s rather than just 3.4 DFIs.

He has taken seriously the point that the cost per mile usually goes down the more you drive it!

Am I alone in my thinking that he's asking a lot for a car with 200k under its belt? Has it had a complete suspension overhaul, etc?!

Why would anyone want to do that sort of mileage in a Cayman, or any two seat sports car for that matter.

Why not? It's a better drive than any other car I can think of that would be bearable for lots of miles. Barges are for old men.

Why would it need it? It's only had 3 years for the rubber to deteriorate and perish, and I wouldn't have thought any of it would be under much strain doing the sort of driving it's likely to have been doing.
