My 2005 Boxster requires a checkover and service. I am based in Staffordshire and wondered if anyone has any recommendations on a good independent Porsche specialist. Needs to be Midlands or Cheshire based.

Of the ones I know, have used and would recommend Sports and Classic are nearest and have free BMW & Mercedes courtesy cars, Unit 11 in Warrington are very good too but less convenient, Ninemeister are now about a mile from them (and have chargeable loan cars, at least they used to) and Hartech are in Bolton and can source you a v low rate hire car.

I've used JMH in Holmes Chapel (close to M6 J18)and been very happy with their service and prices.

Revolution are well regarded on BoXa.net, and I don't think they are a million miles away from you? http://www.revolution-porsche.co.uk/

Why independent? Have you considered an OPC? Does not the 986 boxster get fix priced servicing?

Leicester OPC are great.

The vast majority of 2005 cars will be 987s which fall outside of the reduced price Porsche Servicing - the quote from my local OPC was £800 for a minor service, belts and brake fluid change. An indy was half that for the service.

£800 for an oil change, brake fluid change, a couple of filters and a wash? No thanks!

They will negotiate. I put my 987S through Chester last year as they price matched the quote I got from Ninemeister and I wanted to put another stamp in the book for resale. But make sure the final bill matches the quote :-)

But if you are looking for an indy, Sports and Classic gets another vote from me. Mike's a top bloke and has looked after a lot of our cars in the past.

I use PCT Porsche in Coventry, impressed with them, efficient, helpful and well priced,on the last job they did they insisted I take the car out for a good run to make sure I was happy before paying them anything which I liked.
