Hi,

I topped up the oil on my Cayman S this evening. I filled it up to the maximum mark on the computer, I then left the car on the drive for a while. I later went to put it in the garage and I notice that it's now reading over the maximum mark. Should I be worried about this? How sensitive are they to overfilling?

It won't be much as I didn't put that much in, so I guess only a few ml. Is the drain easy enough to get to, if I decide to drain a little bit out? Or should I just not bother?

Thanks,

Dan

Ah, I may have just answered my own question. In the manual it says a warning "check oil level" will display when the oil level is either below the minimum or well above the maximum. I haven't had this displayed, so I assume it's ok.

Hence I normally fill to one bar below the absolute maximum as I know the sensor is not accurate and I don't want to risk overfilling.

It's back down to the maximum mark today, so must have only been a very tiny amount pushing it over the max mark. All good.
