I'd been thinking about spending £20k but over time rather than all in one hit.

Currently I'm thinking RSS kit, semi-solid engine and transmission mounts, full exhaust system (Capristo or Cargraphics), I'm worried about the noise though for track days! IPD plenum, GT3 throttle body, Brembo braking system and something to improve gearshift feel. Seen a housing that fits under the transmission tunnel, so keeps OEM look and maybe cup cables too. Might get a lightweight battery if there's any change. Would love to try your Spyder, it sounds like an absolute weapon!
I spent about £8k but don't have a brake issue, but you would then see what 6 pots would bring to you, (amazing)
I cannot afford more as the GT4 needs funding. but it would give you some idea what camber and brakes bring, and how 300lb/ft feels like.
Sounds good thumbup

If you re going to get an exhaust with very small boxes I would get one of the valved/switchable ones as they can be very loud and will probably do your other half's head in.

Yes I'll definitely go switchable, hence Capristo / Cargraphic!

Out of curiosity, anyone know how many 987 Spyders were made and how many in the UK?

has flaps and is 55mm tube over 48mm Spyder/cayman so no need to buy a full system imo.

So just the manifolds? That might be a good idea to reduce noise on track days?

I know I thought about that. But I've been assured that the street version is not too intrusive.

My wevo ss tran mounts will be up for sale shortly as the nvh is a bit much for me (and I'm running oem engine mount). Ive been asking first function (aka the MrD mounts) about a replacement using the urethane solution and they are advising not to do both the engine and tran (even in the softer 70a) if at all sensitive to NVH and i think i am going with just the 70a tran mounts. I would have gone with MrD suggestion of just doing the engine mount in 70a but i already replaced that with a brand new oem mount and so i need to renew my oem tran mounts. Its worth talking to them about it, they can also do a custom pour so if you wanted to try for e.g. 70a tran mount with 60a engine mount they can do it.

I run a fresh 987 engine mount and poly filled OE gearbox mounts which seems a nice upgrade/compromise road solution.

I can't wait to read this topic as it comes along.. I really think another 25-40 BHP, nice induction noise and exhaust would make a CR.

Kind of wish mine was out of warranty...

Please make sure you keep us updated.

Thanks, Dan and I will post on here - but please bear in mind these mods will take place over time, not all being done at once.

I'm not sure who the manufacturer ot the mounts I've been told about is - I'll find out and let you know. I might well get in touch with first function - what is the noise like on the Wevo? Is it a buzzing sound that just won't go away or an annoying whine or something else?

My Spyders already done, yes it's great , do it :-) not heard of people needing the warranty on 987.2 cars.

Is there a topic that shows your mods? or could you do a quick list and what you think of them?

Thanks,

The noise on the wevo mounts is only aggravating at about 3000rpm in the drone zone, its a transmission whine is the best I can describe it, but on long journeys or where you are coasting at that rev range, in conjunction with a noisy exhaust, also sometimes noisy tarmac it can be very irritating. This is why your idea of doing mods slowly is so important. You have to make changes then get used to them to see if you like them. Case in point my carnewal decat rear exhaust, when I first got it I was disappointed it was quite tame, but then after a couple of months of different types of journeys I realised it was perfect. I started out with the idea of making a stripped out pared down mini gt3, lowered susp, lightweight, buckets, half cage, lots of noise and character but after gradually moving towards it I realised I was chasing an idea, not something that I actually wanted in reality, which is a very fast well handling road car that looks completely oem, has some character and rawness, but at the same time balanced with some comfort.
